The Pats have what is likely the best offensive line in the NFL. Outstanding job guys.

Brady has enough time back there to try on the entire Uggs fall collection.

But can they rush the passer? Or cover people?

Clearly there is something wrong with their football educations since they don't even try to rush the passer!

What is Scarnecchia doing, time to fire him? :bricks:

Waters has made all the difference I believe.

The much-maligned Dan Connolly has been very good as well. Of course Koppen was pretty maligned as well so I guess there's no difference.

And we have a 3rd OT on the bench that could easily start for half the teams in the league.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And Waters blocked both of them

I think we've seen our clock killin formation too on that last td drive. Solder at TE next to Light. Gronk just to his left. I think you'll see Aaron Hernandez as the 3rd te and Welker. Defense has to play it's base. You can't play nickel. You might not touch BJGE. You can't brink in an extra lineman. Too many good receivers still out there; Welker, Hernandez and Gronk. You have to play your base defense 3-4 or 4-3. We're running left with basically Mankins and 3 Tackles(Light, Solder and Gronk). Not many teams are going to be able to stuff that. In fact, SD has a better chance than most. And, they couldn't.

You know what I'd appreciate? If Matt Light would quit getting beat and having to hold people.

Amazing protection for Brady, esp. given 3 new starters, one a rookie, one a sub, and one newly arrived a couple days before game one. Kudos to them indeed.

This fanbase is so spoiled it isn't even funny.

Waters has looked very good hasnt he?

Pretty amazing, considering he just walked through the door having never played RG before in his life.

(Feeling especially lucky to have Connolly and Waters while watching the Jets plug in a newly signed UDFA rookie to play for Mangold.)

Despite today's loss to Buffalo, I think the pass blocking was once again excellent.

I would need to review the game to better evaluate the run blocking. The rushing numbers themselves are not stellar, but sometimes they only tell part of the story.

Pass protection is top notch but the run game is below average. Couldn't get BJGE into the endzone on repeated tries.

A real bright spot. Good pass protection especially with Solder and Waters just stepping in and Connelly seems to be OK and will get better each week. 1 communication problem stood out but after Brady and Koppen being all but inseparable for 5 years that's to be expected. Dante has always run a very tight ship and it shows. I wonder if he could spend some time with the DB's?

Cause he had how many holding penalties today?

They did also commit three of the eight penalties including two that were drive killers...

Brian Waters completely dominated the Beast from 'Bama in Marcel Dareus. It was a pleasure to see.

Dareus early in the game went head to head with Solder and moved the big fellar pretty quickly. But Waters is the best Patriot free agent pick up since Bryan Cox and Randy Moss.

We were down 2 starters and still have the best OL in the league!
