It's very unfortunate we didn't draft this pass rush demon vs a bust like Solder.

Reports indicate Quinn was consulting Jerry Hughes, Everette Brown, Vernon Gholston, Aaron Maybin, Derrick Morgan.........

Maybe we should demand the Hoodie consult the many sage draft evaluators at patsfans.com

....careful or you'll have him consulting here for the many cases of premature ejacualtion too.

After missing a year of football, it might the best thing that could have happened to him.

Oh man that Belichick is sooooooooo smart. Robert Quinn is on his way to being a bust.

Let's make tons of conclusive assumptions after one or two games.

Based on that:

Devin McCourty is a bust. He's given up over 300 yards combined in his first two games of 2011. He is Darius Butler Part 2 -- impressive rookie season with flashes of potential followed by tremendous downfall.

Brandon Spikes is a bust he was inactive Week 1. We shouldn't have drafted him.

Jermaine Cunningham is a bust he was inactive Week 1. We shouldn't have drafted him.

Shane Vereen is a bust and half the board is wrong about him. He is not Kevin Faulk's replacement or even a valuable part of the team. He's not a playmaker. He has been inactive for the first two weeks. The Patriots should have drafted Daniel Thomas instead because he had over 100 yards this week and Vereen was inactive.

Seems to me you don't have to be very smart (or even breathing) to not draft a player who wasn't available when you picked!

I agree, very difficult to do.

Even if Quinn was available, I would have passed as well.

I'm very shocked at how well Solder is doing and really glad he can backup Vollmer and Light this year.

And I think Dowling could be special down the line as well, if we can ever get him off the trainer's table.

Couldn't watch much of the game last night, but accord. to the Gamebook,
Quinn's #s were 2 solo tackles, incl. 1 sack for -8 yards.

Let's not call him a bust just yet, but let's not fit him for a bust in Canton, either.

Agreed, Quinn is a player you have to be patient with. Being a rookie is tough, and being a rookie in a year with no offseason & minicamps is doubly tough. Now throw in not playing for a year before that. It would have been a miracle if he were ready to take the league by storm game 1.

I was pretty high on Solder, and even so I'm amazed -- because he was supposed to be the raw guy loaded with long-term potential, right? Instead, we hear raves about his fundamentals from the moment he hits camp, he starts game 1 successfully at RT where he's never played, and somehow has time to learn plays at tight end, too.

And yes, early results show Dowling exactly as advertised: a major talent whose legs keep breaking down on him. Crossing my fingers, and some toes for good measure.

Quinn played some last night and didn't look too terribly bad. He had a give-me sack when the Giants forgot to cover him, but struggled a good bit against the run and did not look assignment sound at all.
