Re: Childress promoted

I wouldn't doubt if this means jackson is not active tomorrow.

Re: Bam to active roster

Good for Bam :rocker:

Anybody else get the feeling that BB and Mcdaniels have some surprises in store for the Jag D?

I'd agree with that. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone other than Faulk and Brown returning punts .

Re: Bam to active roster

I'm unclear - is he just on the 53 man roster or was it announced that he's on the active roster for tomorrow?

It's a big difference - though one would think they wouldn't bother putting him on the 53 man roster today if they weren't going to have him on the 45 man active game day roster... unless they just caught wind some other team had their eye on him.

Excellents points. I'm assuming they intend on using him tomorrow or next week, most likely tomorrow. I guess the big question is who made the flight down there?

Re: Childress promoted

The savior arrives 2 days early.:p

Re: Childress promoted

Childress promoted might be the smartest thing the pats have done all season. I liked him all along and was kind of dissapointed when he was released. Dont be suprised if bam starts and get a 100 yrd 1 TD game, he is defenitly someone we need right now.

Re: Bam to active roster

They would not promote him unless he were going to play tomorrow. I expect it will be depth in the return game with Maroney and Faulk hurting. I expect Hobbs to return kicks. Brown will take "safe" punts inside our 20, but the other punts are uncertain (CJ?).

Re: Bam to active roster

Game actives aren't set yet

I didn't think so... the 8 guys left off are usually game day decisions... often depends on the health and depth of different areas of the team. I hope he does play, and am glad he's on the 53 man roster (I had a gut feeling the Saban might grab him at some point), but we're a bit premature if we're assuming he's a lock to make the 45 man active roster tomorrow.

Billy Yates was promoted for SB XXXIX and added to the Inactive List...it's a much bigger payday than Practice Squad money and a useful insentive for guys who work hard all season. I'm hopeful he will be on the active roster and will get some reps in the passing game, but he could very easily be inactive and enjoying the Christmas bonus.

Re: Bam to active roster

Count me in as a Bam Childress fan.

What little I have gotten to see of him, something tells me that in any game he plays in, I expect him to make a play that can help the Patriots win.

Not sure why BB has not gotten him more playing time, but I'm guessing that they see something in him too and that they are keeping him around because he is a good player who is giving it 110% to make it in the NFL.

Maybe he has been slow to learn the playbook, but has all the tools to help us win.

bam childress really embodies the patriots to me...someone who can make it out of nowhere and be (we hope) productive...troy brown, stephen neal, tbc, david givens, matt cassel, randel gay (for a season), ..oh yeah how about that guy ...whats his name??? oh yeah- Tom Brady...i could go on...
BB has been an absolute genius in finding these diamonds in the rough...and bam is one of my favorites.. he is no doubt a fan favorite and i think we are all pushin for him this week and in the future...
in fact...we cant even be sure whether he was promoted for WR or for defense which he has done in the past...or for ST purposes only

Re: Bam to active roster

I'm high on Bam - always have been - though apparently my assessment of him is different than the coaches otherwise he'd have been on the active roster far sooner than this.
QUOTE]

He's been shifted around in an almost HankP-like way;he's a solid player and I hope he finally has a niche. Go Bammaa!!:rocker:

Though he may be active, most likely he won't dress for the game. He is the sixth WR and none of the others except Jackson are hurt. Only five and maybe only four WRs will be active.

We only had 52 on the roster and I think this is the Patriots way of giving a dedicated practice squadder (won the black jersey a couple of times) some more money. He makes $5,000 a week on the practice squad and about three times that if on the 53.

Absoluely right..NO reason to move him up umless he was playing..which he will...Jackson may be out again..
