ESPN NFL WEEK 2 picks

I am surprised that the Pats are a near universal pick for this weekend. I guess the Chargers' historic slow start and Brady's success against that team makes everyone think this game is going to be a Pats' W.

Maybe they are picking the Patrots because they are the better team playing at home.

Brady's had success against the Chargers? They must be, together with the Ravens, the defense that has given him the most fits in recent years. If anything our defense has played well against San Diego's offense.

Couple thoughts:

-Man, Chicago gets no respect. Not a single pick, even after what they just did to Atlanta? They're 3-0 against the Saints since Brees joined, and 4-0 with 6 interceptions against Brees overall. Urlacher will play, and probably play well. With no Will Smith or Marques Colston, Saints are seriously overrated. That defense is going to be a disaster all year.

-Surprised Buffalo was a unanimous pick. Watching the Raiders last week, they got incredible pressure and they ran the ball extremely well. Buffalo should still be majorly susceptible to both. Those cross country trips are pretty tough, admittedly.

-It'll be interesting to see how the Jets offense plays, particularly if Holmes is out or less than 100%. Sanchez played okay last week, but it was against maybe the worst group of DBs the league will see all year considering all of Dallas' injuries. I'll be watching to see if they can run the ball better after a mediocre preseason and a rough week 1. Their Defense should handle the Jags well enough no matter how the offense plays.

-HOU @ MIA will be interesting, if only to see how good a team Miami is. Context will help us learn how good the Pats really are.

Not him personally, but the team's win loss record vs. the Chargers. Should have worded that better and said Belichick over Brady. And not used Brady personally. I used Brady because the Pats lost to the Chargers in 2008 without him, but other than that I don't think the Pats have lost to the Chargers since 2005.

Yes, that is true, but the Chargers are many of these "experts' Super Bowl pick. So you would think more than a very small handful would pick the Chargers over the Pats. The Pats are clearly the favorites, but in most people's minds the Pats aren't worlds better than the Chargers. I think there were more people picking the Dolphins week one than the Chargers week 2.

Oakland over Buffalo

I have no take on Chiefs/Lions yet

Ravens

Colts

Vikings

Chicago

Jax (against the betting line... I'm not sure about straight up)

Pitt

Wash

GB

Dallas

Cinci

Houston

NE

ATL

NYG

Along with the unanimous Saints pick, I thought the strong majorities for the Colts over the Browns and Atlanta over Philadelphia were a little surprising.

And though it looks like a lock, I think Carolina could give Green Bay an interesting game. First home game for Newton, etc.

I really don't watch alot of ESPN but they don't seem to be Chargerphiles like NFLN.

Well the Pats are a safe bet at home in the regular season.

Pats across te board :rocker:

They're all delusional homers too. Just ask the Chargers trolls.

Err... east coast bias... or something.

Also, can someone explain to me why everyone is picking the Broncos over the Bengals? The Broncos were bad even before Lloyd and Moreno got hurt, and the Bengals just beat a half-decent Browns team. This confuses me enough that I'd be laying heavy money on it if it wasn't the ******* bengals.

Well Cincy hasn't won in Denver in 35 years. Also, Dalton isn't 100%.

Ford and Murphy have both been ruled out for the Raiders, and Seymour, Huff and Heyward-Bey are all still questionable. I may have to change that pick closer to game time.

I hate when everyone picks the pats..

the media is riding the Tom Brady's mojo right now, of course the Pats are getting the favorable picks. Honestly, I can't stand espn power rankings and predictions.

Already put my money on Buffalo. It was a hard thing to do, luckily I eased into it by making some money on them with some favorable spreads last year

I'm actually still leaning towards the Raiders, although I'm waffling on it. I think they are too physical for that Bills team. If Ford and Murphy were going, I'd have figured the Raiders to win big.
