Bruschi Is Milking It For All It's Worth

Good post...feel same way basically..

Bruschi chose to go to ESPN knowing full well what they do.

I admire and appreciate Tedy Bruschi the player and the person.

Tedy Bruschi "the analyst" - - that's another story.

He didn't go into this blindly. He knows who is paying his checks these days - and that this tweet was, in reality, a non-story. I thought he was above this.

It's one thing to state one's opinion - - no problem, if he was against the tweet - - but he and his emplyer are now shilling the story 72 hours later. HE is the one who should shut up now.

Ochocinco was followed by a much larger group of media than usual in the lockerroom today - - and turned around, smiled and said "Y'all know I'm not talking".

Bruschi is the one causing disruption - - and getting paid to do so. Maybe he'll do a 30 minute special on it this weekend! It depends on what the marketing department decides.

It is what it is.

I don't consider myself an idiot....but I am starting to think....ah, nevermind.

Anyway, to answer your question. No. I was never a fan of the Ocho signing. Had zero expectations for his fitting in. Been lamenting the signing since it happened. ESPN should be paying me for being ahead of the curve.

Unlike Tedy, however, I couldn't care less about the tweeting....I am just really concerned, yet not surprised, that he's slow to "get it." So, yah, stop being in awe and go study some film.

Well you arent Bill Belichick so your view on him means dirt sh*t to the team. Obviously if BB signed him as a player, he knows what he's doing.

its okay to not be a fan of a certain player, no one can dispute that but who cares what you think about his development as a player. You dont know what they have planned for the guy. Give him time to learn and adapt to something tough and complex to understand.

I hope some of you dont have kids...

Same could be said for your views as well, sir. It's an opinion. It's a strong one. As strong as yours, I think. I hope you teach your kids it's okay to have an opinion different then their dad's. :)

I will be the first to admit that I have never been a Chad supporter. I do, however, hope he "gets" it soon and that I am dead wrong about the player. Really.

That said, I do not buy into the learning curve, complex offense, blah, blah, blah. He's had long enough. He's just a slow learner. Hopefully, he'll get up to speed soon enough.

Uh, I think that's the intended/expected result by all involved.
I think Tedy got a little emotional, especially when he heard Ocho didn't get out of bed until Six o'clock.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit, eh? I've been calling Chad a misfit way before ESPN - and Tedy - got on that bandwagon. I said it the day he was signed. ESPN was waving the Ocho pom-poms then. Me, not so much.

There's no evidence as of yet to support Ocho being a misfit.

You may very well be right. But I wouldn't really take pride in your whole Debbie Downer routine.

Yeah..like..it's obvious. That's kinda how ESPN can figure out stories. It's not like they use Jedi mind games to determine stories the masses will bite on.

Garbanzas- Ocho sucks

ESPN- Hey Tedy, the Garbanzas of world think this, make'um bite. Use something stupid like tweeting.

Tedy- No problem

Rodney- Hey Tedy, let me on that.

Tedy is just doing his job, same as when he was suiting up.

I am not going to re-post what I posted elsewhere about Ocho and his current lack of production.

Tedy now gets paid to do analysis and creat buzz and with this little brouhaha, he has succeeded. His old job used to be blowing up running backs. See the difference?

what cracks me up is all the espn talking heads commenting on tedy's comment. all the stupid things that are said on that network by all those idiots and they pick this as something to run with. typical espn muckraking when it comes to the pats.

ESPN?

Also, NFL.com, NFLN, patsfans.com, profootballtalk.com

This is one of those things like when your brother gets into a fist fight with someone and they are in the wrong... You know they are wrong, but it doesnt matter. You have their back anyway.

When it comes down to it... Bruschi is family... Chad Johnson is just another guy.

Dont get me wrong, i hope Chad works out for us. But as of right now, im with 54. I wish he didnt pile on so much, but whatever.

Thank you, Bill Bulger.

Ocho said "Y'all know I'm not talking." He then turned around and marched right into a wall. He later Tweeted, "Wow, what a wall, I'm in awe." The sound of a head exploding could be heard in southern Connecticutt

....or maybe he knows the offense really well right now and the Pats just played a 2TE 2WR offensive scheme on Monday night and he is the #3 WR.

Precisely.

Tedy decided to join the same profession and the same corporation as Greg Easterbrooke.

He's only doing his job. (Easterbruschi?)

Boo-effing-hoo. If you had a substantive argument against what he said, you wouldn't be resorting to attacking his employer. Argumentum ad hominem.

Like I said Yesterday. Ocho was going to be the media focus if he posted OR if he didn't. He's clearly in a "no win" situation. What he DOES have to do is remember one of the more important aspects of the so called "Patriot Way". DON'T LISTEN TO THE NOISE.

Think about this. In the past, when asked, Brady commenting to having all new WRs in 2006, how long it would take for him to be on the same page with his new WRs? Brady responded by saying "at least mid season". Remember that was when there were mini camps, passing camps, and off season conditioning. So if you take it in 2006 terms, the 6 weeks that Ocho has been here translates to around mid May in 2006 terms.

BTW- the "Ocho needs to get his head into the playbook" is one of the lines that really pisses me off. BELIVE ME, Ocho knows the playbook by now! His issue is that he is still "thinking" while he runs his routes, instead of just reacting. It has nothing to do with knowing his assignment. What he needs is more reps, hundreds of them, and that only comes in practice and games.

The second thing people keep on ignoring is that Ocho is the 3rd WR on this team, at this point. There will be a number of game plans whee the 3rd WR IS going to be the 4 or 5 option. This isn't about Ocho, its merely about the game plan

We all SHOULD know that lineups don't remain the same very often. An injury to a TE and 3 WRs could suddenly become the main formation. An injury to a WR, and suddenly Ocho is back in the forefront.

All this Ocho talk is nothing more than the media trying desperately to generate buzz. And guess what....it WORKED.

Wow. You must be the ONLY person on this forum who doesn't understand his employer is a central character in all this.

Talk about someone not understanding the obvious!

'How dare you RESORT to attacking ESPN! What an ad hominem attack that is!!!'

Thanks for the comedy, Pujo.

Precisely.

And Bruschi knows this, he just chooses to ignore it for marketing reasons - - which makes what he has done even more slimy.

He WAS Mr. Patriot. He isn't anymore. And that's ok. He is an ESPN analyst. He is teammates with Tom Jackson now.

There is nothing wrong with that per se.

It amazes me how quickly "fans" turn on a true, long-tenured, the heart and soul, and the long-time captain of the New England Patriots - Tedy Bruschi...but are quick to defend Ochocino who clearly is having issues grasping the offense.

I could not care less if Chad tweets, drives a puke prius and wears his camo shorts all winter....I just want him to learn the system. Everyone was sooooo excited to have the social media king aboard. Big whoop! Learn the system. Tedy is not the only one to Chad's not getting it. Yes, Rodney said it. Fauria has said it. Damien Woody has said it. Troy Brown has alluded to it. I think these guys know a little bit more than any of us.

Tedy's an amazing guy ;)
