Mike Wright has another concussion

Wow, that's awful. He's been a really good player for us but I hope he's thinking long-term health over football right now.

Damn, he looked good monday rushing the passer. But his long term health is far more important. Should seriously consider hanging it up.

cunningham better step it up...oh wait he's made of glass.

Like so many others, he may be forced to prematurely walk away from the game. I'd hate to see it. The man was really evolving into a really really good player. I love everything about him. However, his long-term health is so much more important in the grand scheme of things. He needs to really start thinking of that, assuming he hasn't already

That is some bad luck. He's turning into an excellent situational pass rusher for the Pats. Damn it.

So tragic, i've always considered Wright as the dark horse in that line. terrible situation to be in.

That sucks. I was so happy to see him out there after missing so much time last year…on a play that no one really seems to know how the end result was a concussion.

I hope he is financially set up to walk away if that is what it comes to.

Nothing to consider. Life is long. Don't ruin it just to play for the balance of one more season.

I didn't like it when Bruschi came back and at this point I don't want Wright coming back either.

Get out while you have your health and can enjoy life! Knees, shoulders, etc are one thing. Don't mess around with your head or your heart.

Good luck to Mike and I hope he gets better for himself and his family.

Hoping for a quick recovery for Mike ....

This is it for him I'd have to think. Too bad, I really liked the way he played.

Seems once your prone to concussions its easy to get another, he has to take that into consideration, I would think he hangs it up also.

Mike, thanks for everything. We love you. Think about retiring, please...

Given how severe the last concussion was it is very serious that he gets another concussion in his first regular season back, it will hurt this team but his health and family are much more important.

Exactly.

The medically prudent thing to do was quit after last season.

If it took one more concussion for him to feel good that he tried his hardest to keep playing, fine. (And by the way, I bet he made a few million dollars more because he made the roster this year.) But Wright has taken enough serious, life-threatening/life-altering damage. It's time to stop, sad as that is for him, and regrettable as it is for the team.

I agree, but at the same point him having a concussion is hurting thyis team b/c he occupies a Roster Spot. He should retire for his health and for the best interewsts of the Patriots

Thnx Mike

I'd love to keep the dude but concussions are no jokes and this will be a reoccuring problem going forward

I'm sure he wants to get full pay for his year, even against the best interests of the team.

So I expect this to eventually wind up with him on IR and THEN retiring without playing another down of football.

If I'm him, I'm hasta la vista, baby, and if I'm the team, I'm hasta la vista baby.
