is it just me or did it seem like they were rooting for mia? Or maybe just wanted a close game.

also, what was with the comment about the pats taking advantage of the east coast and being fresh (don't remember exact words) . Both teams are from east coast and the pats travelled, not the phins. Either really dumb comment or me really dumb.

on the positive, I liked the FedEx a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a auto repair commercial

Not just you, they almost sounded like they could coach Miami if they got a chance. It was annoying at times. It was always what Miami had to do to cause harm to us. I guess they wanted an upset.

It was very apparent, and more than a little annoying.

I thin Gruden is funny as F man...he just seems to really enjoy the game, and have a good time with his job...the other guys suck though.

Personally, I have no problem with it. TV announcers always have a rooting interest: they're pulling for compelling television. That's their job. Often it means talking up the underdog to convince viewers it's going to be a tighter game than they think. Occasionally it means fawning over greatness...and as the MNF boys realized that Brady was entering record-setting territory, they happily switched to that mode. :)

I don't know, I thought that also during the game, but I just got done re-watching it and the praise for Brady, Belichick and the Pats was pretty extensive. Overall, I thought they were more than fair, which isn't often the case in my opinion during night games.

Big Pats homo here. I saw it as respect for the Pats superiority them saying that if Miami wants to run with the big dog they need to do X, Y and Z. Not rooting for the Phins.

The East Coast remark perplexed me too. Perhaps in his mind he was contrasting the Pats same time zone trip with what say the Chaagiz hafta do flying cross country Saturday. Who knows?

Gruden got his seasonal four-letter slip in there.

Seriously though, I noticed their "coaching" of the Dolphins too, but I guess I'm used to it because it didn't bother me a whole lot. I thought it was funny when Gruden said, "All the Dolphins need is a big play on defense."

Queue the interception, TD, and then the Pats strike back. There's Gruden a few minutes later, "Now all they need is another big play on defense."

:D

I like when after Bush ran for a few yards 4 minutes into the game Gruden sayd "theres questions whether Reggie Bush can be a full time back, so far so good", it was 4 minutes into the game of the first game of the season! Sometimes they talk because they have to.

Overall, I like Jaws and Gruden. There's some real knowledge there. I remember a couple of times one of them saying watch the top of the screen, figuring where Brady would go, and that's where the ball went.

If anything, I found the Brady-love excessive. I love Brady too (in a straight guy kind of way), but they go a little too far. (They were also going a bit overboard for Reggie Bush too.)

Overall, I didn't mind it too much. I like Gruden & Jaws, and most of the time I was too busy watching the game to really listen in to what they were saying.

I thought that was Gruden as well just because he's made that mistake more than a few times in his tenure, but If I remember correctly it was actually Jaws. A little while after he apologized during the broadcast for slip up haha it was pretty funny though

Gruden being a coach (and a QB coach) and Jaws having qb'd a team to a SB really appreciate just how special Brady is... O don't mind hearing about that.

I don't think it was excessive.
They were trying to make the audience realize that being a qb is not just making complicated throws and stuff. Is more about reading a defense, adjusting your offense to it and then deliver the ball flawlessly. Brady did that perfectly monday.

I like Gruden, really enjoyed him teaching Pryor by making fun of the bubble screen in that show he has in a bus.
Jaws is alright.

Hey, good for you! :D

Back on topic, I didn't have a huge issue with the announcing team. Then again, I didn't even notice that Jaworski cursed during the broadcast.

I didn't have any problem with the announcers other than the fact that they sucked.

I really don't mind Jaworski and Gruden, I don't like Mike Tirico.

Then again, we could be stuck with the Dennis Miller days again, now THAT was a downright travesty to the game of football.
