Jets coach Rex Ryan had an unfortunate choice of words in the days leading up to the game, warning fans that “it’s probably not recommended” they wear Cowboys gear to the stadium.

I believe the facilitating of bad behavior whether intended or not, needs to be treated very harshly......tickets to these games cost alot of money, and people deserve to not be harassed. The cowboys fan was wrong to bring a taser into the game, but I guess you could say it was justified.

This simply opens up Jets fans to be targets at away games.....don't feel bad for 'em, they earned it because of their idiotic coach

You have only heard part of the story.

The man would not remove his hat or stand for the pledge, dooshy but his rite.

The man talked loudly with his dooshy friends during the moment of silence and the playing of taps at a game on the anniversary of 9/11.

The man did not stand for the pledge, the marine reciprocated by not standing to let the man out at half time, dooshy but not illegal or warranting a taser attack.

The Cowboy/instigator pulled out an illegibly possessed taser and tased a Jet fan in his home stadium on 9/11.

And you think Rex should be suspended for that?

Outside a few (very few) great posters here like Gun, I find that JETS fans are a bunch of miscreants. A bunch of thugs. What kind of POS fan gives another person crap about wearing another teams gear to a game. I know it happens all over, but if a fan feels he has to bring a taser to a game to be safe.......... you have a scumbag fan base. No justification.

I've been to countless Bills games at the Ralph and ALWAYS wear my Pats gear. Outside of a couple "Brady's a ***" catcalls, no one bats an eye at it. That goes for the the full tailgate too. I mean, that's a team that has been spanked 16 straight times by NE, so you'd think they'd be evan angrier of a crowd. I never feel unsafe there.

I guess they just don't have the lowlife, scumbag fans that the JETS and Raiders do. Who doesn't let a guy out of the stand to take a wiz at half time. Ridiculous.

I recognize that Jet fans have a bad rep, and it is deserved for some of the heinous things they have done to opposing fans in the Meadowlands.

But in this instance the bad guy was the Cowboy, the Cowboy did not get attacked for his jersey, he did not get attacked period till after he tasered the marine.

I'm proud of the unidentified marine jet fan. And his fellow Jet fans who came to his defense.

As much as I absolutely LOVE to talk smack about Sexy Rexy I agree with him 100% here, it’s not a smart idea to go into an opposing teams stadium wearing your colors, why take the risk of making yourself a target of drunken homers who want to take their aggressions out on someone?

If Rexy's warning resulted in a less conflicts would you still be mad at him?

How did Rexy “enable” violent fans to start fights? If he said something to the effect of “We’re gonna show all of Cowboy nation who’s boss” I’d agree with you. He’s also not telling anyone what’s required, his exact words were “probably” and “not a good idea”, if he said it’s ‘probably not a good idea to ___________’ does that mean people are not allowed to do it? People are free to follow his advice or ignore it.

OTOH, suppose he said “Cowboys fans should wear their gear to the Jets game” you’d be partially blaming him for fights criticizing him just the same.

to go out and say 'it is not recommended' to wear cowboys gear to the game is enabling the people who already have problems controlling themselves to further their aggravating behavior......not sure why you don't see that. I'm giving my opinion on his EXACT words I'm not trying to impose any meaning into it like you are. Here's something to think about it, if I told a friend of mine "it's probably not a good idea to wear a Brady jersey to a Jets game" am I enabling anyone or it it potentially good advice?

both .... you're giving good advice to one and enabling the other..... coach makes it sound like he's condoning based upon his recommendation......

you telling your freind that is completely different meaning than a coach saying it in public.....

it does not have to be LEGAL to be sanctioned.......I believe the correct word is condoned.....

there is nothing legal or illegal about what he said......but the message of condoning or sanctioning fan violence by a coach should be treated harshly.

You might have something if you want to claim he condoned violence, I'd like to see some video to see how he said it, but he did not "enable" anyone, check the definition, you're simply not using words accurately.
