They are already epic draft steals and still have not even hit their prime.

Let's see how durable they are. That's always a concern in football, and especially for TEs. (E.g. Coates, Bavarro.)

ESPN postgame Hernandez says 'difference is Gronk is better allaround TE (more complete blocker) and he has more agility/speed.'

He says he is working on his blocking etc.

That is great if they can learn/develop from each other.

Only downside; you cant teach Gronk SPEED. oh well.

Gronk isn't exactly slow for his size!

I'd wait a bit on their busts. It's a long road from good rookie years to Canton. I'm just going to enjoy watching the season.

very true, he is deceptively fast and very difficult to tackle and bring down after catch. It was fun watching 2 Gronks in the huddle

Miami got Gronked !!!

I was impressed with Gronk's ability to get downfield last night.

If Hernandez is able to improve his blocking ability he would be amazing

I'm more impressed with their ability to play the same position in an entirely different dynamic. They're almost the perfect tight end pairing.

Props out to the other Gronk. I thought he was very solid.

Welker touched on what will be crucial for these two going forward when asked to gush about them like fans will on a message board... They have to show they can remain focused and productive to insure they can remain mentally and physically tough through adversity and not allow themselves to become victims of their well deserved early career hype.

Yes, it's early days for Rob and Aaron but the signs are extremely promising.

Looking back you have to wonder what the hell the other 31 teams were up to as the Pats drafted one of the best TE combo's in football. Were they awake ? Were Rob and Aaron not liked by other teams ? Steal of the century by the Patriots.

Hernandez had drug problems and Gronk had back issues.

Drug problems? Hernandez smoked a little weed in college. Now it doesn't look good that he was foolish enough to get caught but I'd hardly call this a problem. No way you let a guy fall to round 4 over a little weed.

We DO have two HOF tight ends period.

Any commentary on how Dan Gronk played relative to Alge Crumpler?
I didn't notice him make any mistakes and it was hard to know how dominant he was in the blocking game as the entire offensive line played like a stone wall. I guess you can say he didn't look out of place (which is encouraging).

To be fair it would be remiss to make a like for like comparison one game in.

Oh you didnt hear? Jets fans say Gronk is a JAG.

we better hand out extensions in YEAR 3

extend them @ end of year 2... I would THEY ARE OUR OFFENSE

You said it best. Thank God the other 31 teams passed on them. Gronk & Hernandez are almost unstoppable every time they touch the ball! There isn't an answer for it.

Jesus.:ugh:

They were almost too good last night, if that's even conceivable. I think it's important to get Ochocinco into the flow before too many weeks go by or they're going to lose him mentally. He looked mighty unhappy on the sidelines. And, whether it's 85 or someone else, we will probably need someone to "stretch the field" come Playoff time, as the Jets game would remind us.
