Son smitten with girlfriend, headed to L.I. for holidays, except the realization that Pats will not be on CBS there on Sunday has him reeling.

Anybody know of a comfortable sports bar that would show NFL games near Valley Stream?

Im from Lond Island but not from Valley stream, although i do know the area. I dont think you will have a problem finding a sports bar in that area, on sunrise highway. If you go east on sunrise highway you should be able to find something there. good luck.

I used to live in Valley Stream, Sunrise Highway is the way to go tell him to go East (away from NYC). Their is also a Mall right their on Sunruise, there must be a good SPorts Bar around there.

p.s. If he is really desperate, have him try unpulgginf the cable and using the over the air antenna, I used to get the CBS station out of Hartford and they show the Pats.

Hannigan's in Valley Stream...or Churchill's in Rockville Centre (10 minute drive).

I can't testify that he'll get any kind of reception to watch the Pats game since they are up against the Giants. BUT that is Jets land so they may want to watch......

ESPN Sports Zone in NYC. If he does this, probably best to take the train in. Also, he should be forwarned that if he does not like cigar smoke, avoid Churchills.

Hey fgssand. I'm in the same boat, going to LI for the holidays, except I'll be in the Huntington area. Seems that legitimate sports bars (many tv's, multiple-tv viewing seating, etc) haven't caught on in LI, seems like there is money to be made if someone were to open a few.

If anyone knows a place around Huntington (north shore, near Nassua-Suffolk border), I'd love to hear it!

Try Instant Replay in Huntington Station on Jericho Tpke (not far!). 631-673-6161.

Work with someone from the area who says her husband goes there every Sunday.......

Finding a place to watch the Pats on Long Island is a large issue. You can try Champions at the Marriott next to the Nassau Coliseum - very good sports bar... 15-30 minutes from Valley Stream (depending on the roads) - right next to the Jets home for the next 2 years at Hofstra. So you should call ahead because most sports bars won't play the Pats in Jets/Giants country. I know I have gone through many withdrawal weekends since I shut down Direct TV.

Have him head down to Long beach, and go to Minnesota's. This will be about 20 minutes from Valley Stream. Its on the West end of Long beach, on Minnesota Ave.. (All the streets in the West end have state names for them) They have all the games and always a few hotties roaming around. I live in the city, and I am not a big fan of LI or anything that I have to cross a river for, (that includes you New jersey), but in Long Island, Long beach is the best spot. And Minnesota's has nice plasmas decent food, good place to see a game.

Not a fan of the place.....too many loud-mouthed, gold-chain wearing Jets fans.
Nothing worse....
