Get used to it. The Pats are gonna put up a lot of points this season. And teams playing from behind will rack up garbage time yards/points with a lot of passes.

This game was just the latest example, Brady's masterful performance notwithstanding. Defense has all but been legislated out of the NFL.

Every rule change and decision has been leading to that. Receivers can go where ever they want now and have no fear of being hit.
If they ever enforce the 5 yard legal contact rule on Revis and he gets called 30 times a game, we could do this every week

Re: 933 yards passing ... 62 points ...

Seriously, 30 points used to be an impressive performance, now at least half of the games this week have scores over 30.

Re: 933 yards passing ... 62 points ...

No wonder i took #12 in FF...beast mode

Re: 933 yards passing ... 62 points ...

one thing I've noticed more than usual...offensive P.I. is rampant...all the big WR's push off on the smaller DB's to get separation...

Re: 933 yards passing ... 62 points ...

Interesting factoid. Brady's 500+ made me look up a classic matchup I watched between young namath and old Unitas where they threw for 496 and 376 yds respectively.

What I hadn't noticed is Namath threw only 15 completions.

check this stat line

15-28...6 touchdowns 33 yds per catch.

That's a pretty efficient 15 passes.

Just so people who question his HOF credentials, he was not an average player even if his totals were average.

And still we can't buy a PI call. Why exactly does Revis get the Jordan treatment? The sicker thing is that Cromartie gets the Pippen treatment and he's lucky if he's Bill Wennington.

That's why we got big CB's. I daresay lightning has struck twice. Last year with McCourty, and this year with Dowling.

Good thing we finally have big corners huh?

I've always been old school...like Bobby Taylor of the Eagles...big fast corners with what they term good hips beat smurf corners in my book every dyam time

You should keep in mind that the lockout has had this effect on more than a few teams in Week 1. The Bills put up a 40burger on the Chiefs yesterday, for crying out loud. I'm going to withhold judgment on our defense as a whole until a few weeks from now. There were busted coverages all over the place for both teams. The one thing I will say, however, is that Josh Barrett has to play better. He was lost in coverage quite a few times tonight and bit hard on that TD earlier in the game. If he doesn't play better, the personnel decisions on Meriweather and Sanders will look like bad ones.

Re: 933 yards passing ... 62 points ...

Impressive display Brady and crew put up. Pats broke OBrian and Marino's record. So I did some googleing.

Most passing touchdowns, game: 7, Joe Kapp, September 28, 1969; Y.A. Tittle, October 28, 1962; George Blanda, November 19, 1961; Adrian Burk, October 17, 1954; Sid Luckman, November 14, 1943.

Seems like everything old becomes new again.

Most passing yards, game 554, Norm Van Brocklin September 28, 1951

Most passing yards, game, No interceptions 527, Warren Moon December 16, 1990

Longest pass completion 99 by 12 players last by, Tom Brady September 12, 2011 [9]
Most combined passing yards, game 906, Tom Brady 517, Chad Henne 389 September 12, 2011

With Brady back there, the rule changes only benefit us.

Hard to complain, even if it makes our D look worse than it is.

Don't forget it's his first game with us, ever. He was on IR all of last year.

He has a history of catching on quick, he had a great start his rookie year then regressed because of injuries.

How's it feel to have the 4th best QB in the division? Only way Sanchize makes that combined pass yards list list is if Brady throws for 700.
