That's a lot of responsibility given to a rookie who hardly practiced. And he's done very well with it. Great surprise.

Someone fill me in

I know you guys are breaking down the game everywhere and feel free to move this. Just DVRd the game and instead some music channel was on auto record (never get verizon fios, they couldn't even inform me of that pre recording). Missed every snap and see Brady had 500, seriously he decides to be aggressive fr the first game I miss all decade.

Who started on D specifically at safety and what where the big moments? Why did the D give up 24? Sorry but I'm pissed and need some closure before school tomorrow, it's been 7 months and I miss Brady's best game yardage wise. I need to find a copy this week.

re: the official post game thread

He can play. The guy can play. I am happy with him. I hope we don't get a short corner again.

Re: Someone fill me in

7 basically came off of a fluke int. Another 7 late in the game. Overall a good start for the D. Its only week one and they looked good outside of the first drive.

re: the official post game thread

wait but he was injured early in camp and looked "lost" when he finally started practicing. I thought he was a bust?

Re: Someone fill me in

Thanks, not bad, they should bring it at home vs a good SD offense.

re: the official post game thread

Dowling & Solder's performances were rather pleasing tonight.

Please post your post game comments on this thread.

Good win on the road on opening day. Can't and won't find any fault at this time with this win

Dude, we gave up 400+ yards to Chad Henne. I don't care if he had to play catch up all game, that's unnacceptable. The word "good" should not be mentioned in the same sentece as "defense" today. Actually, the run defense was very solid, so the above basically applies to the pass defense only.

guess you better stop thinking...:woot:

re: the official post game thread

I thought Dowling should move to safety, but now I might be changing my mind. For a rookie with limited playing time in the preseason, he played exceptionally well.

re: the official post game thread

Always exciting to see the rooks play well. Very solid game from Ras-I.

I agree. The Dolphins had a ton of yards but I think that's more their execution than the Patriots playing horribly. I really can't remember a lot of instances where players looked horribly out of place. Miami couldn't run the ball after the first drive either.

Re: Dowling!

As great as the Patriots O looked, the thing that stuck out the most was the horrendous officiating. Anyone who thinks the refs weren't instructed to keep the game close is kidding themselves.

Re: Dowling!

Every MNF game (featuring the Pats should start @ 7. Time to type this, brush my teeth and bedtime!:)

Re: the official post game thread

This could turn out to be another fantastic draft class, and we haven't even seen the RBs yet.

Re: The official Post game thread

Some will lament the yardage against : but I felt better about the backfield than in the last few years.

I don't care about yards. I care about points allowed. They let up 17 points when the game meant anything and one of the TDs was a ten yard drive. You look back at the dynasty era and the Pats gave up a lot of yards, but few points. There has never been a game where a team lost it by outscoring the opponent, but getting less yards.

Re: Dowling!

watched the whole game with a bunch of raving lunatics at Rhody Joe's....man, there's like a gazillion freakin' Jet fans that attend URI...nobody in green was laughing at the end of the game...more like stunned disbelief...Brady...behind THAT O line?????? Connoly at center????Solder all night at RT???? Somebody better gold plate Dante and insure him for a billion dollars...

Re: the official post game thread

Was not happy with D...but what i do know...how can someone stop brady and this O?
