once again another season is coming to an end, and those of us in RI have not had access to HD in the NFL except on NFL network and NBC. CBS and FOX are owned by the same company, LIN communications and there negotiations with Cox have broken down and we do not get either channel in HD.

Over the past couple of years continually e-mail both, and each side blames the other. I can go to the dish or direct, but when lived in another state was not that all impressed with these systems .. does anyone have any insight into what is going on or if there is any hope to get this resolved.

Any chance of just receiving the HD stations with an antenna? That's how I get my HD here, as our cable system is still mired in the 80's and has NO digital tier at all

We bought an antenna for this reason but could not pick up any HD channels from our house.

I'm not sure about CT because I don't have digital cable yet (still living in the stone age), but they do have a link for it off of the Cox site. Are there regional arguments?

One thing that may help is that I believe AT&T has just gotten approval to send TV signals over the phone lines. Here in central CT they have already put the desk-sized control boxes on the poles for it (well before they got approval). If nothing else, the threat of AT&T hooking up with the NFL Network may be enough to get things finalized.

I got Verizon Fios internet and in Spring they are going to start offering cable with HD. The day they do I switch. Supposedley they start with @20 HD channels including CBS and FOX.
