Patriots / Dolphins - Three Keys to Tonight's Game
By: Ian Logue

With the Patriots and Dolphins finally set to battle on Monday night football, here are a few thoughts on what could end up being a tough battle down in Miami....

Not gonna lie....I'm more than a little concerned with the offensive line and the Defensive backs. Solder is in for a very long night and if the dolphins offense gets clicking then the secondary could be in some big trouble with those talented receivers. To prevent this let's just keep henne on his ass all nigh long!

Solder on Wake is my only real concern tonight. If they help him and keep Wake from killing Brady, we'll be just fine. Personally, I'd like to line up Gronk next to him and hand off to BJGE off right tackle all night long and watch Solder and Gronk pancake Wake time and time again. It's when Brady passes that Wake worries me.

I see it differently, i think the key to the game as well as the season is line play. If the Patriots can run the ball effectively and stop the run effectively then the rest of the league is in big trouble. If Brady has the running game going it will be really hard to tee off on him and if he has time he will tear defenses apart. On the other side of the ball the key will be getting teams into 2nd and 3rd and long, at which point they will be one dimensional and i think this years pass rush will be good enough to make life difficult for opposing QB's, as in recent years they have had all day to convert and have been very effective doing so.

This year's version of the Patriots should be fascinating to watch and the offense will put up big points, as they always do, but their ultimate success will come down to the strength of their lines, and if they become dominant then i expect a SB win.

Dolphins will be moving Brandon Marshall around

From Rotoworld:

The Dolphins are planning to shuffle Brandon Marshall between the X, Z and slot positions against the Patriots on Monday Night Football.

Miami is looking to keep its No. 1 offensive threat away from double teams. Moving Marshall around should also help him avoid Patriots LCB Devin McCourty, who flashed shutdown skills as a rookie. Marshall's primary position has usually been "X", but he's got some experience in the slot. ESPN's Wendi Nix has reported that the Fins want to attack the Pats "aggressively" tonight.

Apparently McCourty is going to get some respect this season that Revis and Asomougha get. Hey, if he takes away his part of the field because people are afraid to throw in his direction, I am happy with that. That means the rest of the secondary is going to have to step up against Marshall.

Re: Dolphins will be moving Brandon Marshall around

Marshall is one of the most overrated receivers in the game, atleast with the Dolphins anyways. Let them move him around.

I agree that he was overrated last year, but there is a chance he could return to form with Daboll at OC.

On a side note, Daboll is getting far too overrated by the local media. He did well against the Pats last year, but his OC career has not been spectacular thus far.

Re: Dolphins will be moving Brandon Marshall around

Marshall was one of the most overrated receivers in the game? Are you kidding me? He is a 6'4 230lb monster who can catch 20 balls in one game, and 100 in one season plus 1,000 yards and 10 td. He is a beast when it comes to YAC, has insane leaping ability, and ridiculous hands. Not to mention he is one of the strongest receivers in the game. God, I would love to have him on the patriots, I would have given up a 1st round easy for him 2 years ago.

I was going to say, it doesn't matter where they move him if the QB can't get him the ball. Let's hope that new aggressive D puts a dent in their game. GO PATS!!

Did you watch him play last year? He was very up and down last year. It had a lot to do with Henne and the offense, but he was fairly average for most of the year last year with some spectacular games.

I still wouldn't want him at his best. He has been more of a headache for every team he has been on than an asset and he was near elite at times during his career. That says a lot.

None of which he's done since being with Miami, so the original poster's comment is very valid because he says as much. Go back and re-read it.

Re: Dolphins will be moving Brandon Marshall around

Might wanna try him at QB....

Re: Dolphins will be moving Brandon Marshall around

Good for Brandon........ They ought to try that with Henne. Move him around a bit as he runs for his life from Vince, Big Al and company. :D
