With Vollmer out, they HAVE to activate another OT for this game...right? How late can that happen?

Doesn't it have to be the day before? I am sure I read that somewhere...

I believe that the active list is due one hour and 15 minutes before kickoff, unless this has been changed recently.

A practice squad promotion and a corresponding roster move, as far as I know, can occur right up until then as well.

I can't find a link for a rule on tming of gameday roster moves, however, so this is just my recollection

I wonder if Troy brown is available.

I can see it now....Light gets pushed back at the same time as Solder.....they end up rolling up on Brady and each other.....

One play and TB,Light and Solder limp off......

OUCH

Thank God we have Hoyer and Mallett....calling all OL and TE's.....;)

There may be transaction deadline of 4PM. In any case, any late activation needn't be made public until an hour or so before game time.

Correct. 4pm is the deadline, and once it is reported to the league office, the news will filter out.

Thanks, good to know. So presumably somebody is getting cut this afternoon -- and the way the past few weeks have gone, somebody none of us would have predicted. Who's left to confound us all?

I'm still going with Tarp to IR, because we have great depth at ILB. That's the logical move, which probably means I'm wrong.

One cut to confound them all.

(I have a guess who it won't be.)

Anyone but Tarp or Wendell to IR, or cutting Ihedigbo would confound us all.

I have no guesses.

Logan Mankins? :D

Is Welsh an upgrade over Manieri, who I thought looked good in camp.

I was baffled about Maneri too, but from the timing it looked like they only cut him after securing Welch to the PS. So I guess their memories of Welch were warm ones. :)

I think they will go with Light and Solder and in a pinch they will shift Mankins to left tackle, Williams to left guard and Connolly to right guard.

Yup the Pats let LeVoir go, and then let Manieri go once they knew they had Welch back, so it looks like Scar liked Welch best of the three of them (although I doubt any of them will be an All-Pro).

We always have three active OT's.
We have two available as of yesterday's roster.
Why would we not activate the chosen #4 OT?

According to Reiss Welch has been activated off the PS and is warming up on the field.

No word yet on who Welch has displaced, yet.

To make room for Thomas Welch, the Patriots will make a move with LB Jeff Tarpinian, I'm told. Waiting on specifics.

About time.
