My guess (I did see the downgraded list):

RT Vollmer
DE Cunningham
WR Price
OL Wendell
LB Tarpanian
QB Mallet
RB Vereen

seems like price and cunningham are gonna be on this list for a while

which would suck... i was hoping for big things for price... hopefully its only this week ,but not a good sign ....

Hamstrings -- one of those things that doesn't sound like much of an injury, but I know they really have to nurse them. Very frustrating injury.

I'd add Vollmer to your list as well.

I reckon Vareen is active, but wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't!

The 2 extra could be Mallett and a D-Lineman!

I do not want to see Solder going against Wake...

Well, I mean Mallett can be "active" as the emergency QB right? I would leave him off and choose 7 real inactives if we're going that route.

My guesses:

Vollmer
Cunningham
Price
Tarpinian
Wendell
Vereen
Molden/Ighedibo (sp?)

He'll have help for sure, but honestly if I were the Dolphins I wouldn't line up that way anyway. Wake has proven he can be productive against Light, plus that's the blindside where you want the most havoc caused. Then you line up a less talented guy on the rookie and you've got a chance at pressures from both sides.

Also, chances are the Fins want to test the right side of our line inside and out, because of possible chemistry issues if Waters plays right guard. Between a guy with one week of Pats practice and a rookie, there's going to be breakdowns in communication there. No need to use your best pass rusher on a side where there could be some free lanes.

This is what is likely to happen IMO, and what I've been thinking since last week when the chipping a TE to Solder's side talk started. I still think that we'll keep a TE there a lot, but the pressure will NOT be coming just from Wake, or just from one-side, lol..

Miami has a capable, tough defense that tends to play Brady tough (with the exception of recent success, although one game was a week #17 game which was completely meaningless). Even the early MNF game last yr was basically tied at halftime. Brady wasn't exactly tearing it up out there at 7-6, or whatever the score was off the top of my head.

We all know about his supposed 'struggles' vs Miami, specifically AT Miami. Hell, the whole team has tended to struggle there, aren't they like 13-33 there all-time or something?

I'm not trying to be a downer or overly-negative, but I do think that Miami (specifically opening the season AT Miami) does pose us a little more of a challenge than some like to admit. Besides the 2007 and 2010 yrs, I believe they have split just about every time in Brady's tenure here.

I think it'll be a dogfight for our offense, but I'm hoping that the defense is the group to step it up and make some plays..

Of course, ultimately I hope that I'm way off base--and that it's an easy 14+ point win, which is certainly possible; I just believe that Miami is a tougher opponent than many are giving credit for. A divisional game on the road can always be a tough out and pose problems.

The emergency QB designation has been eliminated, effective this year.

You now have 46 active instead of 45, but a 3rd QB would count against the 46.

that rule was eliminated for this season. you can now have 46 players fully active of your choice, rather than 45+emergency qb.

Ah, thank you both, not sure how I missed these changes. In that case, replace the Molden/Ighedibo choice with Mallett on my list.

If you missed the Jets game last night you also missed that the no touch after 5 yds Polian Rule point of emphasis has been quietly dropped. Why has no one reported this rule change?

I thought the same thing. I constantly saw the jets DB's mugging the WR's.

Mallett will head up the inactive list all season unless one of Brady or Hoyer gets dinged up in a game or in practice to the extent Bill is genuinely concerned about their ability to function or we're mailing in week 17. I imagine the same will be the case for Price although it's far more likely someone ahead of him on the roster is dinged up week to week.

We have 6 of the 7 (5 guys are out plus Mallett). The 4th RB who is also a little beat up makes sense as #7. Of course, an injury could decide this for us. Still lots of questionable guys.

Huh?!? Both have been practicing all week this week. Why would that mean they are going to be on the list for a while. I bet one or both will be active for the Chargers' game.

Taylor Price already in mid season form riding the bench.

That is, unless Mallett supplants Hoyer on the depth chart.
