Game's on ESPN right now. FIU vs Louisville, and Hilton is tearing up the Cardinals. Great agility, great footwork, feels zones extremely well, and out of this world burst. I think a good slot receiver is a priority this year. Time to put him on the watch list.
From what little I've seen he looks like anywhere from a late 2 to a mid 5. Draftscout has him listed as the #16 receiver this season which seems to be near where the Pats prefer to take their mid round receivers. He looks like a great returner and potentially a deep threat from the slot (what a thought, huh?!?)
The Pats have generally had horrible luck with their WR picks in recent years. However if this kid is the next Deion Branch, I'm all aboard for a 2nd round look. Still too early to tell what's going to happen though. If Welker gets an extension, then the priority of WR drops way down. Won't be able to tell till we get to that point./QUOTE]
It is very hard to find WR's that run good option routes.
That is why giving Price a red shirt year was a great thing in my mind. He came from an offense that is vastly different than ours and based on play in the pre season, he learned a good deal in that red shirt year.
If healthy he could steal some playng time from one of the veterans this year.
I watched that game and it was funny.
FIU's offense consisted pretty much of "get the ball to T.Y. Hilton" -- and Louisville knew as much. So the main plan was to line him up somewhere unlikely and hope that Louisville would lose track of him. He certainly was fun to watch!
