He was the emergency QB before we signed Vinnie, even took a few snaps in preseason (though they were all handoffs).

Either the poster or NFL network were wrong. He was only in for a tryout. Teams are required to submit roster changes to the media (both local and the wire services), so it's not something they could hide if it happened.
