All season long the patriots have got no coverage. Every week i watch NFL network and espn to catch up on my football highlights, but it seems when it comes up to the Patriots highlights, they barely show anything. Even now with the playoffs coming up you still dont hear much about the pats. They talk about the AFC playoff picture but still the Patriots get no talk. I think it might be a bunch of things. The biggest thing being that we have just recently won 3 championships and the leauge and media are sick of us winning, and hope that we dont. The only time the pats do get any coverage its when we lose, so the whole country can see how bad we played that week. Its so obvious how noone wants us to win, and i cant wait until we do, so we can rub it in the country's face that we are still a team worth talking about, that deserves coverage.

Agree with that 100 %!.

Our team is bland, gray, and that's the way we like it. There are no catchy angles for us this time, let them cover someone else.

we get attention only if

either we play awesome football all season which merits mention which we have not
if we have QB contriversies we have not
if we have some great story like the saints
if we have players only meetings
if we have 8-10 players arrested during the season
if we have TO
if we have michael vick

we dont meet the requirements for coverage.

We have had coverage this year concerning two players, though they are now exs. I can't remember their names, as they no longer exist to me.

The division is all but locked up. Same goes with the Chargers, and you don't hear an awful lot about them either.

It's all about the Bengals, Ravens, Jets, Jaguars, and Broncos - those fighting for playoff spots.

Agreed. Even locally here in N virginia, watch the halftime report on FOX sunday, they show the highlights of the first half of every game then get to the PATS and only announce the score.

Maybe if we had a player OD on pills, or spit in another players face we would get some coverage.:(

I don't mind the lack of media coverage. In fact, I prefer it that way. Have the Pats fly under the radar a bit.

The NFL Network, for whatever reason, is very NFC driven. They spend A LOT of time talking about Atlanta, and specifically Michael Vick.

Off-topic, but does anyone else notice the mancrush NBC's execs have for the Cowboys? How many NBC games have they been on already? 8?

Honestly who cares...even when we were considered elite, we didn't get the press. We apparently have a boring coach, a boring QB (on the field anyway), and an overall boring scheme.

We have no convicts, no loud mouths and no controversies (with the exception being Brady throwing everyone under the bus last week in which he really didn't, but he kinds sort of did). Brady gets more press for being single than being a QB this year - he is no longer considered elite - IMHO. Love the guy, but since his play has dropped off he is not up there with the superstars in the league. In fact, last night while watching the Colts Bengals, they never even mentioned him in the top QB's in the league...it was Brees, P. Manning, Palmer and Rivers. Brady didn't get one mention AT ALL!

Yeah, it's been a weird season alright!

Under the radar is fine with me. There's a little-known law of celebrity that goes: when the media loves you, watch out. That's when the hounds of hell are going to come nipping at your heels. See: Sports Illustrated covers.

No controversy means no media. No glamor-boys or criminals or other "hot stuff" that only sells newspapers but has nothing to do at all with winning is just perfect for me.

And I used to be in the newspaper business (!!)

SI covers never hurt this team...in fact, during Brady's championship days, he was on the cover 6-7 times and won two more SB's! No curse there!

I think this can also be the reason for the 1 Pro Bowler we have this year...

lack of coverage.

That being said, I dont mind.

I think the person who said that might have gotten the curse confused with the players on the cover of the madden football games for game consoles. Every player that has been on the cover of madden football gets injured.

the football media is ******* stupid ball suckers if you ask me

Having been out of the country for most of the past ten years, I didn't know this about Brady. So, it's good to know the Pats/TB have broken the SI cover curse.

Having said that, though, I'm still just as happy to not have the Pats be the center of attention. Such hype only draws the wrong kind of elements.

Still, it is interesting that the Pats, with all their success of the past several years, still don't get the coverage one would expect. I think it boils down to the "market thing": the New England market is seen as too "small" for the gurus who run the networks and print icons. Oh well. Life goes on.
