We all know the big three in Wes Welker, Deion Branch and Chad Ochocinco will produce as they are legimate accomplished Superstars at their positions but what about the young ones behind them who are learning from them, and looking up to them as well as Tom. Who do you all think will produce more out of trio of Julian Edelman, Taylor Price and Matthew Slater. All who are talented in their own way and present different set of skills

At WR, I hope it's Price, as Edelman is redundant when Welker and Branch are healthy.

On STs it's the other two.

All I can think about is that Julian Edelman is extemely talented as a punt returner and with the ball in his hands is as dangerous as many in the NFL. I also think that a guy like that poses multiple threats on screens, reverses, and etc. Could you imagine if he is used correctly in some plays with Danny Woodhead and Wes Welker. And speaking of Wes Welker, his game is very characteristic of that of a Wes Welker and former Quarterbacks always make good to great Wide Receivers. I think Edelman should be used more.

I think that Price will have a good chance at replicating or surpassing Tate's 24 catches from last yr, but I did have a sense of appreciation in regards to Edelman trying to get more on the same page with Brady in the off season. He also showed good hustle, as usual in the preseason.

I think there will be some specific playcalling spread throughout the yr for both Edelman and Price, albeit in a reserved and limited role.

We should also keep in mind that injuries + other outside factors tend to happen too, so I would not be surprised to see one of the 'big 3' miss some reps, thus paving the way for 11 or 17 to make some noise.

Used correctly, is assuming that he is not.. using Woodhead, Welker and Edelman at the same time would not spread the defense as essentially they all cover the same real estate.

I like Edelman, but he is what he is an overachiever who has progressed in thie meritorcracy...

He has good talent, likes the game and works very hard at his craft..

I lke all three. but believe Price may have the biggest impact if he can stay healthy.....he has to win Brady's trust ...having a TC behind him will help, but game experience and learning from his mistakes will determine how fast he moves up the WR tree........Welker,Branch and Ocho will be tough to surpass, but an injury to one, or Ocho not learning the Pats route/reads will give the youngsters a chance to move up......

Th vwl kys smtms stcks n m lptp

The only "true" WR in this bunch is Price. Julian is a QB-convert and Slater is DB/ST/WR type that does it all well.
Having said that, we NEED Price to emerge as his only value lies in his success catching the ball and YAC.
Edelman and Slater will continue to excel at their other roles.

ditto, others are specialists

If Price cannot demonstrate versatility, he will have trouble getting on the game day roster. Edleman and Slater have essential ST roles. Not gonna dress a guy who is just a WR unless 85 just can't get it.

Price is going to get more reps at WR than the other two. Whether or not he breaks out remains to be seen. If Price doesn't make it happen for whatever reason, Edelman is next on the chart.

I said Edelman because he going to be the return guy. Price will really only be given an opportunity if the top 3 guys get hurt

As things go NEVER as Planned , i pick slater.

He has speed and size .He can run unlike our other WR.In 4 WR set
he can play outside.

Price is going to win this poll easy..everyone here thinks Price is the second coming.

Slater is a ST beast. Just put a game tape and you will see how good he is in ST and this its always important. Maybe Im biased but if he can improve his WR skills I can see him as a Troy Brown lite, playing WR, ST, and even in the secondary I saw him several times

Not so, not even close. Welker maybe, Branch and Ocho, no way. In another life maybe, but not now. How can you make such a statement?

I'm not sure that Price will even be active unless there is an injury to one of the top 3. Of course, Edelman and Slater are needed for Special Teams play.

This situation underlines how important it is for backup players to contribute on Special Teams. I think that one WR will inactive in almost every game. Barring an injury to another wide receiver, that player is Price. He may be potentially a future starter, but Price will continue to have trouble getting on the field. Belichick made that choice when he signed Ochocinco.

Branch is far from a star, I think Edelman will have a solid year, Price isn't there yet, Slater doesn't play reciever in regular season I would think.

Elderman will get injured at some point this year (that's if he's not already injured), so Price will have plenty of chances to step up and prove himself.

I'm a big fan of Edelman's, he always seems to play hard when the chips are down. That being said I think Taylor Price is the best 'WR' of the three and thus has the best chance of breaking out this year.

I'm more worried about Branch and Ocho, at this point. Those role players all looked better than expected. If that's our five, we need some real production at the top or need to trade for or acquire someone.

Time marches on, how far from their prime are 1 and 2, that's a real question IMO.

Slater looked good in limited reps BTW. It would be bizarre to see him really progress more, but stranger things have happened.
