unconfirmed, but supposedly an announcement tonight.

This could be BS, if so I apologize

Greg Cooper, former Indy radio personality, tweeted that he has two sources telling him so. He has since deleted the tweets it seems, though.

Pretty good source trying to tell me Peyton Manning to have 2nd neck surgery Tues...going on IR. CANNOT BE!

Now 2nd person telling me Peyton Manning will have 2nd neck surgery Tuesday. Starting to get depressed....

If true...Colts are pucked

I'm going to barf if they get #1 overall.

Hope that's not true

First team to go from playoffs to 0-16?

That would really suck for them, but that's what happens when you live and die by one guy.

Manning is on the back 9 of his career anyhow. This is the only way Peyton the media hound) can get his name in the news since he has been demoted to second best NFL QB.
At the end of the 2011 season TFB will be mentioned as not probably but, most likely the best there ever was.
I don't want to sound corny but this year will be for Myra.
As the NFL owes The Kraft family a debt of gratitude, I believe it will be in the form of a 19-0 season

Yeah this doesn't sound true

Why would they put him on IR. Wouldn't it make more sense to put him on the PUP list then re-assess after week 6?

Actually it would end the look what they did with Cassell bs argument.
Pats went from 16-0 to 11-5. If Colts go from 10-6 to better than 5-11 the dropoff wasnt that bad.
With all the weapons they have put around him an average QB could step in and look pretty damn good.

That would be brutal, hope it's not true. I kinda doubt it, as well. He's already on the PUP, so they can wait 6 weeks before they have to make a decision anyways.

I'm a Pats fan, but I would not want to see this. I'd rather beat them straight up.

It would be interesting, however, to see what they can do without him. 11-5 like the Pats did?

The structure/sequencing of this post made absolutely no sense to me. Peyton might be having neck surgery so that he can get his name in the news because Tom Brady is better and the NFL owes the Pats because of Myra and therefore we're going 19-0? Err.... ok.

If this is true (doubt it), I would want them to go atleast 4-12. If they Colts got #1 overall and Andrew Luck that would be horrible luck for the rest of the league in the future.

Sounds like he is suggesting the NFL 'fix' it for the Patriots to go 19-0, but not in a corny way. ;)

If, ironically, they can stay healthy at their other positions (Addai, Gonzalez, and Clark, Freeney, and Mathis all stay healthy), and they can get a lot of production from their rookie class, I could see the Colts not sucking this year. Not 11-5, considering that they went 10-6 last year with Manning, but maybe 7-9 or 8-8 or something like that. I don't buy that Peyton alone is the one thing keeping a 10-6 team from being 2-14.

Selfishly, I hope Manning plays at least partly because I think they're going to regress with or without him this year. I'd rather that his ballwashers didn't get a chance to use this season as a "look how important he is!" rallying cry.
