For what its worth the Pats are getting 3 points on sunday.. I cant remember the last time , maybee Cincy, were the last time we were underdogs..

They're the home team so they immediately get 3 points so this game is pretty much a wash.

Not a big surprise, the Jags are 7-0 at home outscoring their opponents 191-64. That's an average win of 23-9. In an amazing contrast, on the road they're 129-154, an average loss of 22-18. Nutty.

BTW, even with the Miami debacle we're still averaging a road win of 26-11 which is actually a slightly better average win than the Jags have an home.

The Jags lost to Houston 13-10 at home. Your main point is still on target, though.

They can't be 7-0 at home. They lost to Houston twice.
Edit: should have read the entire thread. :D

I jumped on that but I am only getting 2.5. The line will move closer to Even by Kickoff.

I'd have to take the Jags and give the 3 points. I don't think the Pats defense can hold the Jags to a single field goal.

Take away the fluke screen pass that went for 43 yards and the Pats had a grand total of 82 yards passing against the 28th ranked defense in the NFL last Sunday. Basically, the Pats offense is dead in the water right now.

The Jags always play tough, physical defense. I would be surprised if the Pats can get the running game going. They'll need the special teams or defense to put points on the board to win games against decent teams.

Damn it, NEM, quit stealing passwords and logging in as other people.

I guess any team would look like crap if you took out all their good plays

I bought tickets to this game for my daughter and I a few months ago as an early christmas present to us, but I am almost afraid to go to it now, I so much do not want to see us get blown out.
To make up for a possible stinky game, does anyone happen to know what hotel the Pats normally stay at in Jax? My daughter would be beyond thrilled to stay at the same hotel they were.

I don't know for hotels, but I wouldn't get too concerned about the Jags blowing out the Pats - go enjoy the Division clinching win.

THAT would be completely awesome! I am going to be a nervous wreck at this game though!

Pats leave Jax with the division title after a 27-10 domination of the Jags.

My family and I will head out to Jacksonville Friday morning. It should be a great time. Hopefully this will be the third blow out in as many years for me. I attended the Cleveland and Buffalo road blow outs in 2004 and 2005.

Paint yourself in Red, White, and Blue and dress provocatively, people will never notice. :D

Way to look at the big picture, genius:

Passing yards/game: 14th (most)
Passing TDs: 9th (most)
INTs: 11th (least)
Sacks: 11th (least)
Rushing yards/game: 13th (most)
Rushing TDs: 5th (most)
Scoring offense: 9th (best)
Offensive time of possession: 7th (best)
Total offensive yards/game: 13th (most)

Now compare those numbers to the 2004 offense:

Passing yards/game: 11th (most)
Passing TDs: 6th (most)
INTs: 12th (least)
Sacks: 5th (least)
Rushing yards/game: 7th (most)
Rushing TDs: 9th (most)
Scoring offense: 4th (best)
Offensive time of possession: 7th (best)
Total offensive yards/game: 7th (most)

And the 2003 offense:

Passing yards/game: 9th (most)
Passing TDs: 12th (most)
INTs: 6th (least)
Sacks: 14th (least)
Rushing yards/game: 27th (most)
Rushing TDs: 25th (most)
Scoring offense: 12th (best)
Offensive time of possession: 11th (best)
Total offensive yards/game: 17th (most)

...

Rankings:

Best to worst by rankings:

Passing yards/game: 2003, 2004, 2006
Passing TDs: 2004, 2006, 2003
INTs: 2003, 2006, 2004
Sacks: 2004, 2006, 2003
Rushing yards/game: 2004, 2006, 2003
Rushing TDs: 2006, 2004, 2003
Scoring offense: 2004, 2006, 2003
Offensive time of possession: 2004/6 tie, 2003
Total offensive yards/game: 2004, 2006, 2003

2004: 6 first place, 2 second place, 1 third place
2006: 2 first place, 6 second place, 1 third place
2003: 2 first place, 0 second place, 7 third place

The 2006 offense is worse than a Super Bowl winning team, yet better than a Super Bowl winning team.

Therefore, no one can say this isn't a "Super Bowl caliber" offense.

I jumped on that but I am only getting 2.5. The line will move closer to Even by Kickoff.

The line opened at Pats -1 so to go to +3 is a huge move. 3 point lines take a lot of one-sided action to move them off; only adjustment will be vig.

I'll be watching the moneyline since I don't care about the Pats just being within a FG.

Umm, 2 weeks ago actually, against the Dolphins who were favored by 3 also.
At least here in Vegas they were

Pardon me all to heck if I don't want to take away the 'fluke' screen pass.

That was one of the most beautifully executed plays you will ever see. It is worth rewatching in slo-mo time after time. The Texans actually had all kinds of defenders in the right position but the Patriot's blocking downfield was as good as it can get. Even a block by the WR (Troy Brown I believe). Unbelievably beautiful. And Faulk made his cuts and picked his route off of the blockers as well as any screen run I have ever seen - and even hit the final tight seam with enough momentum to get through to the end zone. You concentrate on whatever gives you displeasure. I'll revel in a beautiful play that I will remember for a long time.

Wow I just looked at that last night that line moved fast. I thought it opened with the Pats being the dogs. Maybe a lot of folks didn't realize that the Pats didn't just clinch their division. I can't see that much dumb money being out there.

I can't check right now because I am at work, but if that money line is above 150 I'll jump it.
