I bet BB knows the answer to this question.

I voted a talented one getting through a rough patch.

A very young one that is retooling and learning - don't look at average team age, look at it by unit. If you do that you wind up with BB's older units at LB, DB, RB, and QB (Thanks Vinnie!) and a lot of kids in the trenches and at WR, the future is bright baby.

I think a better choice would be... An above average team that has difficulties with certain defenses. ... Face it, the quality of the WRs has an affect on how defenses game plan verses the Pats. In the last 2 games, Pats WRs had 8 catches for 35 yards and 4 catches for 37 yards. The league is aware of the Pats WR deficiencies and has stacked the box to disable the run. Reality is that the Pats running game, even with Maroney in the lineup, has been held in check over the last half of the season.

If it is the case, changes in offensive schemes needs to be adjusted and the routes that they are being given to run need change, and/or adjustment, and it is not being done.

One such adjustment, against better teams than Houston, would be the implementation of the no huddle at times other than fourth quarter desperation.

You can't continue to do the same thing that is not working and expect a different result.

Word of advice:

Save yourself the trouble of typing this and just put it in your sig...cuz there's a 95% chance it's going to be in your post anyways.

I think the face of the pats is a running team right now. When i mean running i am pointing to the compliment of RB we use in catching, screens and runs.Corey is still rocking even when you think he is going to loss a couple of yards he always gets back to the line .kevin is kevin and maroney is a hybrid of both.Heath plays FB,RB and TE.

We need 1 receiver open down on man on man coverage. That is all it is going to take to improve the offence. every play 1 receiver needs to open up and this offence is going to take off.

WR saperation is overrated as every WR opens up when the cut and fade the thing is this needs to be at the exact moment brady looks at them .It this timing that is of.

i voted a talented one getting past a hard time. I think whats missing from the pats is the fire, passion, character. If the pats have a bad first quarter they have a bad game, when in the past it always wasnt like that. The pats have a hard time bouncing back. Thats where the fire, passion, and character come in. How do you play, and act, when your down. Do you just rollover and die, or do you do something about it. Thats how you can determine who a team is. With this big win over the texans im hoping we get some of the old pats fire back, because without it we wont win. We have a talented team, its whats inside them whats missing.

I think it's way past the time for us to stop wondering what this team might be and just watch and see what it is. They have ten wins and have to win one more game to get into the playoffs going into Week 16. Let's see if they can get that win in Jacksonville, then get a week to rest some dog-tired players and roll the dice in January.

We are the New England Patriots.

10-4.

Facing the Jaguars next weekend.

Now you tell me.

Actually WE are not the New England Patriots. THEY are the New England Patriots, WE are their loyal fans. Please make the correction. Thank you. :D

That's my pet peeve too, but I was just following along with the title of the thread...:D

Probably YES, if the thread is pertinent to the offense, as this one is. Therfore, my post is in the proper location.

I thought the thread was about the TEAM. Of course someone brought up the obvious fact that we have limited capabilities in our WR's and that cued the broken record.

I believe we don't even touch plays in the playbook because they likely haven't even been executed well in practice yet - I wouldn't expect any better during a real game (though you apparently would).

NEM claiming a connection to loyal fans, now that is laughable.

I'm with Brady per his comments on WEEI this morning.

The level of consistency that has brought them to 10-4 isn't one that's going to carry them deep into the playoffs.

That doesn't mean this team can't win the Super Bowl. It just means if they don't play consistently better they won't.

Yesterday was a good step - much better than the alternative of losing or playing poorly, and making more mistakes.

Can they do that consistently - and against a higher level of competition? The players will have to answer that one for themselves.

Same thing with a playbook...what happens in prctice, against your own teammates is NOT an indication of how things may, or may not, work against opposing players who do NOT know what is coming.

Would you know about all the things you could do on your PC if you didnt try them first?

Do I need to try smoking in order to find out if I liked it or not as a stress-reliever? Knowing all that I know about the health hazards involved, would I still need to try it to figure out if it "works" for me? Even if I tried it and it "worked" for me, would it suit me best in the long run? Maybe I would be better off just sticking with the same ol' routine of exercise as a stress-reliever - sometimes it just doesn't put me in a better mood but is that reason to give it up altogether?

The same applies to the playbook. There are risks not worth taking with our playcalls. If we still have problems executing plays that are called with confidence, we are even less likely to pull off a play that the coaches are less confident in.

Your hangup is that they "may" work, just like I "may" get into smoking cigarettes if I ever tried them. But what is more likely to happen? A touchdown or a turnover? Me hating cigarettes or liking them? (hint: I'm health conscious)

You know the answers.

Inconsistent team who worryingly seems incapable of lifting their game against the stronger opponents. You can't say they've completed the rough patch 'til wins over the Jags and Titans.

The way the first half was going, what harm could there have been with seeing if something like that might work. No try, no know.

"Might work" - cue the broken record! Why not put some more substance in your posts, change it up a little - "no try, no know" right? All your repititve posts prove is that you don't try because you don't know :) The similarities between you and our OC are staggering!

(now for some substance-pay attention now)

What harm? Against Miami we had 2 possessions in the 3rd quarter down only 6-0. One score. Yeah, let's just wing it and risk giving the game away much earlier than the Dolphins would earn it. Instead of no picks Brady might have 3, instead of getting beat 21-0 it might be 35-0. Is that "know" worth the "try"?

We're not and have never been scoring machines against the Fins while Brady has been QB. Typically we beat Miami by winning the field position battle like in Week 5- Miami won that battle in Week 14 though. They deserve credit for being the better team that Sunday.

So, if the "no try, no know" theory is "indisputable", then does that mean I should try cigarettes, heroine or cocaine to see if I would dislike it as much as I do now without even touching the stuff? How 'bout cheating on a spouse? I won't know if that's bad for a relationship unless I actually do it right?

I wouldn't really know for sure, but COMMON SENSE gives me a damn good idea of the consequences.

Thankfully I have the common sense to be able to see through your flimsy little "life theories". No surprise they all center around uncertainty, something which you obviously have a great deal of experience.

Can't we have just one thread without the personal attacks?

What do you guys do, draw numbers on who is going to attack NEM next and try to draw him into an argument? It's really tedious.

'Tedious' is probably the best way to describe his routine, which revolves around bashing our OC.

But then our prayer-starter will throw in a nice gem like this to show us how much he really cares for his fellow man:

What's with this Titans hype lately?

And how are the Jaguars that special?
