This is a pretty terrible contract for the team. Great player, perhaps the best WR in the NFL. The Texans just extended Andre Johnson last year to make him the highest paid WR in football at around $10.5M, and the Cardinals come in at 50% above that? If the Raiders made that deal, we'd be killing Crazy Al for this.

Ridiculous deal. Fitzgerald may be up there or close to Moss and Rice when everything is said and done, but $15 million a year and $50 million guaranteed is way too much for a WR especially when they don't even know if they have a legitimate starting QB. What has Kevin Kolb really done in the NFL?

^ Kolb is probably just good enough to win their division.

I'm just good enough to win their division. The only real QB in that division is Bradford. Except for him and Kolb, none of the other QBs are good enough to make the Pats roster. And that is no compliment to Hoyer or Mallet.

I'll take a better look at the division in the next two weeks but, right now, I'll go with the Lambs taking the title.

Kolb is underrated... he has a gr8 chance now to show people they were wrong. Todd Heap and Fitz he has two nice weapons right their:cool:

idk what else they have? How are they depth wise and overall quality on O?

All I know is that the FRANCHISE TAG on WR's takes a huge hike up the Mountain.:eek::eek:

not that we will TAG a WR, but it might push ppl to signother ppl in FACY... The WR tag is so much teams may let a lot walk and the team will go after a FA's "other position players instead) like a tackle or whatever not a WR)

Wow, that's insane money......... what a waste of a supremely talented receiver too. Hard to build a team around a receiver that makes that kind of $$$.

I'm at a loss to understand why so many people not only hoped, but actually acted as if they expected Larry Fitzgerald would ever become a New England Patriot.

It was never going to happen.

Some here think all the players at the pro bowl will eventually wear Pats uniforms

15m per year with 50m guaranteed for a WR. Wow this is crazy Al Davis type contract. is his disease catching?? 10m per, yeah I could understand. 12m per, I would have raised an eyebrow. But 15m per is just pure LOCO!

They'd be better off releasing him and investing into other players at more important positions.

I was reading a Cards forum...they seem rather happy over their team getting butt****ed in the arse by Mr. Fitzgerald.

F**k me that's alot of money!

But LF is a great player, just hope him and Kolb click!

Yeah, but what do you expect? He's their best player by far; in fact, he's probably the best player the team ha had in the entire history of the franchise. He's a likable guy off the field as well, well spoken, etc.

I would have been very surprised if that fan base did not like the signing, not the reverse.

He's a great player...he almost carried the Cardinals to a SB win...Only lost because 3 guys can't cover Santonio Holmes.

But i don't see how giving a WR this kind of money is good business...You honestly think BB would do something like this? Winning games start with the QB and OL not with a great WR and ****ty everything else.

EDIT : The other Larry is better in Cardinals history.

This is great for Larry Fitzgerald, but his resigning was a foregone conclusion, he hand picked the quarterback he wanted in Kevin Kolb and this contract ensures he will retire with the Arizona Cardinals. He becomes the modern day Rod Tidwell, only his contract is a little higher. They need to make a Jerry Maguire 2.
