$45 for one recv;r and 5 for each addt'l

hd is extra

one tv per box

i have dsl, you can get internet but i don't becuase if there is a real bad bad storm the satellite goes out temporarily

I pay $32 plus all the extra fees, like FCC fee, Franchise fee, federal universal service fund, and taxes. So it comes to $39.43 a month. I don't have a box so I can't get any pay channels, I just hook it right into the back of my tv, I can at least delete the channels I don't want. I also can hook up as many tv's as I want w/out any xtra charge. I have DSL, which is cheaper than cable, but its a little slower. All in all, I think I have a pretty good deal, and since I work in a casino and my weekends are wednesday and thursday, I think I'll just continue just the way I am.

P.S. I still can watch all the NFL (well when on break) games in the sports book.

The point is that we all have the choice. I choose DirecTV because I can't live without NFL Sunday Ticket. There are things about cable that I would prefer but the pros outweigh the cons for me with DirecTV. Others may be in the opposite position. Regardless, no-one is cut off they are simply making the option that, overall, is best for them.

It's a shame because Vermeil is a great commentator but he sounds awful tonight.

Not as awful as the two Ebonics professors, Marshall Faulk and Deion Sanders, who replaced him. Add Bryan Gumbel, and the result is the worst broadcating team in the history of the NFL. I turned off the sound after about 5 minutes of their blubbering jock-worship. Disgraceful.

Your right, cable is the choice I made, and sunday ticket is not an option for me. Working sundays stink, but only during football season. Other than that, all I want is good reception, no static.

The problem for me is that we have two DTV receivers but with 4 in the family we can't all watch different things if we want to. I'm not sure what we'll end up doing, but losing Sunday Ticket isn't an option :)

Come on, you're the man of the family, do what we all do...

Beg the wife to watch football. :D

I just feel the need to point out that alot of the white announcers have trouble speaking english as well. My favorite recent example is Troy Aikman who explained that a receiver "drugged" his toes to remain in bounds.

I hate to say it but I prefer Gumbel's quiet style to say Chris Berman's screaming.
