Maroney, Watson and Wilfork will be held out. Jackson will play but don't be surprised if Watson is a go as a game time decision. I do believe that Maroney is pushing the coaching staff to play but he is too important for a long playoff run. Same with Wilfork on D. I think if this were a playoff game that all would play. Thoughts?

speculation or news?

Unless stated otherwise, always presume speculation.

EDIT: Its really hard to figure out any of these because we don't have anything approaching an understanding of their injuries. Assuming each is on the bubble, they'll sit Maroney if they feel they can run without him, Wilfork if they figure someone else can man the nose, Watson if two other tight ends survive past the pregame warmups, and Jackson if they don't think they need him. Really, what else can you say about it?

He asked for thoughts, so speculation it is. Was hoping to hear some news, though.

The Pats have enough depth behind each of them to let them sit for this game. Well, actually Jackson is no better than a #4/5 WR at this point, so the question for him is the trade-off between his health and his need for game reps to improve.

Jackson should be put on IL idiot list he can not even read the numbers on the field till he can learn a true play book leave him on the bench much less dont expect anymore from him this year. IF he is not up to speed next year get rid of him like Bethel sorry this is pro football they are paying him to produce and so far he sucks.

did u know that he missed all of TC and currently has a groin injury? hes on the IL alright..injury list that is

I heard on ESPN Radio that Maroney told the herald staff that contrary to reports, he has torn cartilage in his ribs, not a back strain. I just got off work, so I haven't read too many threads, so i'm asking, does anybody know anything about this?

Any Given Sunday my man, any given sunday.

Anything can happen on Any Given Sunday in the NFL.

you can bet on that.

Juvenile. Idiotic. Baseless. Don't post until you learn a bit more.

brilliant.

personally I wish they would just place him on injury reserve so we can all stop speculating about if he's gonna play or not. this kid is obviously not ready, and if we place him on the IR the media won't be hounding on him day in and day out and he can actually focus on learning the playbook etc and not worry about what people are saying about him.

Yeah. Way to start with the personal attack.

Instead of trying to stir some crap up why don't you let us know why you disagree with my post?

Why do I feel that way? First, he's injured. That's not a knock on him, some players get injured often when it's their first year. Second, because he's not playing, we and the media place so much focus on him not producing that I fear it may distract him from learning because of all the naysayers. Instead of focusing on what he's not doing on the field or getting injured, we can place him on injury reserve and just let him study the playbook for the remaining of this year.

I've gone on the record saying I do not expect anything out of him this year and that I look forward to him having a huge 2nd year.

If you don't like what I have to say, don't read it or reply to it. I will do my best to provide to you the same courtesy I give to others, with respect.

our coaching and conditioning staff is one of the most cautious ones in the league and rightfully so...they dont put anyone to play unless its a)absolutely necessary or b)they cant do further damage to their health...worst thing would be these 3 play this week and aggravate the injury...the colts bob sanders is a great example...he wasnt 100 % but colts played him against the pats and then he has missed games again. very rarely do we see pats players relapsing an earlier injury in the same season...i bet once playoffs come the injury report will be short and regardless most of these guys if able to go at 70-80 % will go....

Who cares if we speculate ? We still have 3 regular season games to go, maybe he catches two in each and is actually ready for some (not full time) action come playoff time. Better to let it takes it's natural course than just toss him on IR to quash the talk.

I thought if you were to play on Sunday this team had a rule you had to practice on Friday?? Watson and Wilfork were not present for the media portion of the practice according to Reiss. I am not aware of a rule change so guess they will not play.
