Brandon Spikes Injured?

Can anyone shed some light on why Brandon Spikes hasn't practiced for 10 days?

All I can find is that he has an alleged "ankle" injury. I really hope that this does not last, as I am really hoping he takes the next step this year, to become a dominant force in the middle.

However, since BB guards injury info better than the USA guards military secrets, I cannot find any legitimate reason to be optimistic. Someone please gime me one. Please!!!!!

Just assume it's a rolled ankle and he should be good in a week or 2

Spikes was oft injured in college and I don't think that's going to change. I was surprised he made it through all of his first season (sans the 4-game suspension of course).

He hurt his lower leg playing basketball during the lockout, I suspect the two are related.

That story was blown out of proportion. The whole thing was based on a Twitter post by his girlfriend. No one ever confirmed that he ever hurt himself. In fact, word from his agent was that he was never injured.

That story was blown out of proportion. The whole thing was based on a Twitter post by his girlfriend. No one ever confirmed that he ever hurt himself. In fact, word from his agent was that he was never injured.

But he also supposedly had a tweet of his own that mysteriously disappeared.

All I'm saying is that it's pretty interesting that he shows up to training camp and immediately acquires a lower leg injury not to long after he may or may not have suffered a lower leg injury on his own time.

I never heard about hiis supposive mystery tweet. One of his good friends died the same day of this supposive incident and all of his posts related to that. We don't even know if his girlfriend's tweet speaking of an MRI was serious or a joke.

As for the injury itself, Spike was reportedly having a monster camp before he was injured. If he had a lingering injury, I doubt he would be all over the place like they said. Besides, the Twitter rumor never said what was wrong with Spikes. It was never classified as a lower leg injury. All his girlfriend said was that he needed an MRI and they were putting him in the car.

I read the same reports that Spikes was a beast in camp before his injury. Which makes this situation even more frustrating. Especially when you considerred how young Spikes is and how valuable training camp reps are to a younge player.

Sure hope he gets better and returns to practice soon.

I'm just going by the discussion they had about in on PFW in progress at the time, it's not like I'm privy to any inside info. Obviously I have no idea what happened, still it wouldn't surprise me if there was indeed some sort of injury. IIRC they said that he had had a tweet that was deleted which indicated relief at the MRI results. Considering that by the time I listened to the podcast most of the tweets they were mentioning had been deleted, who knows what was or wasn't said.

No, you're right. Still, who knows. Maybe it was something that was tweaked. Is it entirely possible that it was a legit injury on its own? Of course. Is it in the realm of possibility that what I'm saying is actually the case? I think people need to accept that it's a non-zero chance.

This is exactly how I remember reading things that day.
