Mario Williams is either not trying or he has a lot to learn about playing in a two point stance. I was watching him before they highlighted him and he is really slow getting out of his stance and got no leverage.
Assuming that someone was willing to trade with them. Looking what people had to give up to get to picks in the top 10, what people were asking for was probably too much. You can't trade up unless someone is willing to trade.
And don't forget the Redskins traded for the #10 pick. So the Pats would have traded to the 9th or 8th pick or given up probably two firsts to get to 10.
