More from Pepper: he says hardest part of all the new D-linemen is Bill Belichick - the head man has high expectations

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

From Reiss:
"He's very unlike a lot of what you read about," Johnson said Sunday as he subbed in for coach Bill Belichick as part of a daily news conference. "I was thinking, 'What am I really going to have to deal with?' I'm coaching whatever player comes up in here, it doesn't matter to me, but Albert is a great guy. It's kind of hard to see some of the things you hear, negative about him, coming from that person. ... You need to know both sides of the story. I think Albert is a great person. He's been trying to work his way out on the field. He's been tremendous in the classroom to date. I'm expecting a lot from him."

"I think he's excited about being here, he's excited about playing football, and of course, he's one of the best defensive linemen in the league so I'm quite sure he's going to make a big difference," he responded.

Hold on.

I thought Haynesworth was getting cut?

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

Not nitpicking as all are entitled to their opinions.......

But who one starred the post? I'm just curious why?

Do you not like AH? Do you think this is propaganda? Are you Dan Pompeii?

Some immature juvenile has been one-starring every thread in the forum.

Anyways, the early reports on Haynesworth's motivation and mindset are very encouraging.

Oh.....a Jet's fan!.....Gotcha.

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

Guh. I hate this part of the year. I want to see our full starter lineup pummel someone. Anyone. I know JAX isn't the best team in the league but our endless rotation of 'backups' got very consistent pressure on them. I'm excited to see AH and VW side by side, whoever happens to line up at DE next to them will instantly look better for it.

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

I've never paid attention to the stars. Either the thread sucks or it doesn't. To be honest I've never put a star on anything I've read.

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

It's so funny how opposing teams fans so desperately do not want this to work out for the Pats. Because they KNOW they're QB is going to be hunted and killed like a wounded animal. I guess you could say some of those fans- especially those childish enough to one star posts on an opposing teams forums- are more than a little green with envy!

I always thought AH would be very different in person. Something about the homogenous, 1 sided reporting on him didn't ring true to me.

ps.
The 1 star bandit strikes again!

Though i love your optimism, this defense hasn't killed a squirrel yet, never mind bring back road kill to the den. Let's see it all put together a bit more before we start proclaiming this team QB killers. Hope your right though.

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

See, Dan Pompei? He isn't going anywhere.

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

Yeah, I'm pretty encouraged to see the positive reports coming out of TC on AH. He and Wilfork could be the 2011 version of the Williams Wall if he can retain his focus.

Oh, I see what you did there.

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

Well the anonymous quote from the unnamed executive has been answered we see.

BTW the team standing behind AH will be noticed by AH ;).

Positive news coming out of the coaches mouthes?

Is there any type of news. Personally, I don't read anything 1 way or another as they've used the postive spin to the mead as a motivation tactic before. It could be the real thing (styroy is true) or it could be Hey Albert, we love you and want you to work out.

With the patriots you just have to wait and see. I still view it as a positive thing and until I hear otherwise, Albert is going to greatly help this D!

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

lol @ all the jets fans getting their hopes up that haynesworth gets cut. Because you know they are scared of what he can do

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

Love the speculation on what might happen to AH.. but then Pepper speaks, and the views diverge..

The star stuff is bullshyt and the function of small minds.. I have more stars than you, sounds rather kindergartenish..

The Patriots have changed their defense, and Haynesworth is a fit for it now, unlike in the past.

The Patriots have cleared out the locker room of the malcontents and had a year where the cleaning imprinted upon the players remaining, and can afford to bring in a couple of questionable guys that can be kept in check now.

The Patriots traded for the guy and haven't seen him in a game situation yet.

Putting that together, I don't see how anyone can really project Haynesworth as gone at this time. It could happen, I suppose, but that would seem to run counter to the current Patriots approach.

What's wrong with people on here?

I asked the question not because im hoping to get 5 star posts. I was curious why someone would be down on one of camps biggest question marks having sone positive news for once. I think the question in my OP show that.

That was it. So many too cool for school adolescents on here.

Re: Pepper on Albert Haynesworth

Ofcourse Haynesworth is a different person in New England.

It's his last chance. He HAS to be on his best behavior, or his career will fade into oblivion.

Plus NE has a rehabilitating effect on players. It's a good area with a stable coaching staff who knows how to manage people. You can't get in too much trouble in NE. BB is a disciplinarian. He has total control of the team and doesnt tolerate BS from anyone (remember him benching Welker in the playoffs).
