Not to be concerned. It's just for the girlie forum. It's an awesome power and I'll try to treat the little people with fairness and justice.:rocker:

Makes sense. Remember you shouldn't take Viagra if you have a history of Heart trouble or if you are not healthy enough to have sex...whatever that means.

Congrats on your cyber promotion.

Branch was not a starter but he did get a lot of playing time. Givens didn't start as a rookie. Samuel didn't start as a rookie. Wilson started after the second game of the season by default. I aready explained about Mankins and Gay. Yes I understand that some of these players have started as rookies but most of them have been on the defensive side of the ball. Most rookies that Belicheck drafts on the offensive sided of the ball do not get a lot of playing time their first season.

Matt Light started 12 games in his rookie season. Dan Koppen started 15 games his rookie season. Danny Graham started out as a starter his rookie year, before getting injured, followed by the Pats going away from the two-TE set.

On defense, both Vince Wilfork and Richard Seymour started a bunch of games their rookie seasons.

I really don't see any evidence of a reluctance on BB's part to give rookies playing time.

There's an old rule of thumb that says rookie RB's wear down near the end of the season, due to the increased length of schedule of the NFL compared to college. That may have been true at one time, but with the modern strength and conditioning programs, I think it holds little credence nowadays. This thread may be reading a little more into things than necessary

so because he was shaken up against Lions...and goes out of game..means hes tired? he was clearly hit..and then taken into locker room and never came back.

Good. I'm glad he said that. If he is healthy and Belicheck is sitting him for no reason is the same reason why Gabriel didn't get along with the coaching staff and his eventual release. I also believe Chad Jackson is healthy as well and is being underused. Bill Belicheck reminds me alot like Phil Jackson of the Los Angeles Lakers. Jackson has never trusted rookies when he was with the Bulls and Lakers. I'm glad Maroney is speaking out and standing up for himself. They kid can play and there is no reason why he should be on the sidelines. Now people on this forum will rip me for this.

Word up has it that Maroney feels too tight

Wow, you clearly missed the point. That was my exact statement. I was trying to be PC for others sake.....

You do realize that you have an obligation to your many fans to PM your buddy Box with copies of any cute ladies who you're considering removing from the forum - strictly for a second opinion of course.

Alright you guys are really not getting what I'm talking about and this is the last time I'm going to explain this. They started due to injury!!!!!!! They didn't win a starting job during training camp, that is what I'm saying. I'm not saying rookies never see the field, most rookies that Belicheck bring in start due to injury on the team.

my bud RoadGrader wondered if you were dead, never mind that you apparently were on IR

Dead? No. I was put on waivers by the Council of 5 and have resurfaced at a site that does not have "diaries" featuring the rants of an old man in late stages of senility, nor another with evil clown fascinations. I hope you have been well since we last talked. Tell my friend Tap I said hello.

I resent that personal attack

Yeah, Jackson never had much success, did he?

So if rookies do get to play for the Patriots when the team needs them and Chad Jackson is actually healthy then why isn't he playing? Are all of those great receivers on the roster blocking him?

Most rookies anybody drafts doesn't get a lot of playing time their first season unless they are first round picks or there are injuries.

So your position is that BB doesn't play rookies, and you have a reason why he has played most of his rookies their rookie year. And for proof that not playing rookies is bad, you offer up Phil Jackson.

Sounds fair.

Getting back on the topic at hand, Clayton seems to think he may miss this game.

New England Patriots: The Patriots have 15 players on the injury list. Safety Rodney Harrison is doubtful and not expected to play because of his collarbone injury. He was on the practice field a little bit Friday. The Patriots probably won't have tight end Ben Watson (knee) and defensive tackle Vince Wilfork (ankle). Both players are questionable but they weren't present at the beginning of practice. There is a good chance running back Laurence Maroney will miss his second game because of his back injury. Tight end O.J. Santiago injured a foot during his first practice and is questionable.

FOXBORO - Patriots [team stats] running back Laurence Maroney [stats] has torn cartilage in his rib cage, leaving his status for tomorrow’s game against the Texans in doubt.

According to a source close to Maroney, the rookie wanted to play last week but wasn’t cleared by the training staff. He’s officially listed as questionable with a back injury, meaning he has a 50-50 chance of playing. He missed a portion of practice yesterday.

Maroney has expressed frustration at the varying accounts of his injury and yesterday he basically shot them all down.
“I don’t have broken ribs, I don’t have a concussion and I don’t have a back problem,†he said. “And I definitely didn’t have the wind knocked out of me.â€

Maroney was injured in the first quarter of a 28-21 victory over the Lions when he was tackled by safety Terrence Holt after a short run. The jarring helmet-to-helmet hit, with Maroney twisting sideways, left him wincing as he left the field, and he appeared to be trying to catch his breath.

If Maroney misses his second straight game, veteran Corey Dillon [stats] will once again be asked to carry the load, as he did last week in a 21-0 loss to the Dolphins.

Bingo, there goes all the conspiracy theories, the BB is putting in the tank and all of the rest of the internet rumors that get generated on this board. Does anyone really think BB would not put the best team on the field and the team that puts us in the best position to win?? It seems some people have lost their mind.

Look for the "source close to Maroney" to be on the injury report next week with a fractured skull.

I think that you have nailed it. BB is going through a self destructive stage right now.

I got a phone call from a guy from Foxboro who told me that people have been very alarmed about the way Belichick has been acting this year. It's almost like he wants to lose.

OK, the phone call wasn't from a guy from Foxboro. But, he has been through Foxboro a couple of years ago. And, he didn't actually hear that about BB and was making it up so he could screw with me. Now, prove that it isn't true.

I only read the top part of your post. I take it to be a billion percent true, cos it's on the Net, so it must be. Curse him!

It's always amazing the number of people who claim to be fans and spend all their time ducking black helicopters circling Gillette Stadium - Bob Kraft doesn't need helicopters, it's common knowledge he is using the lighthouse to beam Pariots' pro-shop specials on people's brain wave frequency.
