Brady, Haynesworth among 17 Players who are Not Playing
By: Derek Havens

Tom Brady is among 17 Patriots players that are not in uniform and are not expected to play in tonight's preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. ...

Tb

Does anyone know if Brady will play in the next preseason game?I hope he does.I dont want this to be like in 2008 when we all know what happened in the first game.I believe he got rested alot in the pre-season games.I want him to be out there in the next game!!

Re: Tb

First off, I don't think there's much reason to associate the 2 things---the freak injury of '08 vs. him not playing, as you say "much" in that particular pre-season. I don't feel as though they are related.

As far as your question about it--yes, personally I expect him to play for a couple series in the next game.

Even if he doesn't for whatever reason, we all KNOW what TFB brings to the table....

These meaningless preseason games are to develop and assess our 53 man roster, nothing more.

I want him to get a feel for the action.Just one series and thats it.

Will Tom Brady ever be back to his pre-injury level?

Lets face it, Tom Brady has not been the same since the knee injury. I know last year he was the MVP and he is still the best QB in the league, but there's something missing. His deep ball accuracy has not been the same. I was watching his highlights in 07, and he is clearly not the same. With 3 years removed from the knee injury, will he be at his best again this year? Or we won't see Brady at his prime ever again?

Re: Will Tom Brady ever be back to his pre-injury level?

He had one of his best seasons last year....:bricks:

This is a joke....right?

Re: Will Tom Brady ever be back to his pre-injury level?

In 07 he was throwing deep balls to Moss in his prime. As far as I can tell, Brady's deep throws have been basically the same since 04-05, but the quality of the cast around him has fluctuated.

Re: Will Tom Brady ever be back to his pre-injury level?

Arguably one of the best seasons of all-time last year and he was the unanimous MVP of the league. Try again.

Bizarre.....

Awesome thread.

Can't wait for PFT to write about how Patriots fans (you know, all of us) are unhappy with Brady's play since the injury.

:bricks:

never mind wrong post

Any idea if Haynesworth will even play in the pre-season?

This has got to be one of the all-time dumbest threads EVER.

Does anyone realize that not a single starter on the Offensive line and the Defensive line even played a single snap?

Yet the Offense rushed for 140 yards, and passed for 335 yards on the way to scoring 47 points.

The Defensive line accumulated 4 sacks, and 5 tackles for loss. Four sacks per game projects to 48 sacks/year, and a Top 5 in the League sack percentage. The Defense did not allow 100 yards rushing either.

Here is what I noted:

NONE of the offensive starters played.

None of the starting Defensive front 7 played.

Of the DBs, only McCourty didn't play.

I think that these 17 guys already have roster spots. I think that it will be extremely tough for any of these guys to lose those spots unless they just TANK it totally or just get so thoroughly outplayed that BB has no choice but to promote a guy behind them.

heh..we already have one poster from Texas who thinks Haynesworth should be cut without even getting playing time...I don't happen to think that's even close to being an issue.

this thread is almost as a big of a joke than Rex Ryan:eek::eek::eek:
