21. Kansas City Chiefs(7-6) .500
22. Denver Broncos(7-6) .536
23. New England(f/ SEA) (8-5) .427
24. Dallas Cowboys(8-5) .448
25. Jacksonville Jaguars(8-5) .536
26. Cincinnatti Bengals(8-5) .542

All those 7-6 teams can bump Seattle up a spot if they win, Seattle loses the SoS tiebreaker to EVERYONE. The only tiebreaker they win is that they pick after all non playoff teams with the same record so every loss is important.

Oh, Seattle plays San Diego next week

They have Arizona and @ Denver. Not likely all 4 will go our way but not impossible either.

ya i saw that. it is very doable. the biggest will be seatle at tampa, but hey its possible. the way gore is playing the denver is winable, and smith is way better than cutler right now.

I'm almost positive Josh Brown has kicked 4 GAME WINNING field goals this season.

A few of which were late 40s and one or 2 might have been over 50.

They still won but they can lose to ANYBODY.
Seattle is not that good.

I would love to see San Fran win the division and i think it would be a Blast to see them in the playoffs.

TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION MEETING
If two or more clubs are tied in the selection order, the strength-of-schedule tie breaker is applied, subject to the following exceptions for playoff clubs:

1. The Super Bowl winner is last and the Super Bowl loser next-to-last.
2. Any non-Super Bowl playoff club involved in a tie shall be assigned priority within its segment below that of non-playoff clubs and in the order that the playoff clubs exited from the playoffs. Thus, within a tied segment a playoff club that loses in the Wild-Card game will have priority over a playoff club that loses in the Divisional playoff game, which in turn will have priority over a club that loses in the Conference Championship game. If two tied clubs exited the playoffs in the same round, the tie is broken by strength of schedule.

If any ties cannot be broken by strength of schedule, the divisional or conference tie breakers, whichever are applicable, are applied. Any ties that still exist are broken by a coin flip.


The other thing to keep in mind that is that these rules apply for the first round only and rotate after that.Meaning if there are 5 teams tied with 10-6 records, the one with the lowest SOS picks first in the the first round and then the other five teams would pick in reverese order of their respective SOS. However in the second rd the 10-6 team that picked 1st in the 1st round would pick last (within the group of 10-6 teams) and all the other teams picks would move up one. This continues through all 7 rounds.

I've decided to completely ignore Seattle and their draft pick - there has been 3 to 4 games this season where they were on the verge of the defeat and somehow pulled it out. It's frustrating.

I think the best thing about the Seattle pick, regardless of where it falls, is that DB was not worth it. He is their 3rd receiver and only seems to get a couple of balls his way per game. He also suffered a wicked hit (on which the defender was flagged for a 15 yd. helmet to helmet hit) last night.

thought about it after i posted...if other 8-5 teams lose and become 8-6 they would be tied too sooo might as well just see what happens...but basically if any of those teams (7-6) win and 8-5 guys lose (NE, cinci, jax, ect...) its going to change again..so draft-pick wise we should root for atlanta, NY, philly, NYG, KC, denver, cinci, jax, and of course NE....but i didnt check matchups so maybe some are playin eachother

Right, those teams need to win. They really need to end up a game better than Seattle otherwise the only ones who Seattle will be ahead of are the 1 or 2 from the group who make the playoffs (making the good assumption that Seattle does). Seattle will lose to SD next week, they just will, if they lose to TB the following week then at 8-8 they could pick ahead of several non playoff teams. It's unlikely I guess, but after losing back to back to Arizona and SF it's entirely possible.

Ain't that the truth - although I missed the hit. Even his Hasselbeck back, The Twig isn't doing much. DJ Hackett is outplaying him even though Jackson is out.
