Re: Thank You,Floyd Reese!

pay no attention to the man behind the beef curtain!

Not sure what you mean, since Reese arrived the Pats have had their best draft in a decade and made shrewd free agent moves. The final years of Pioli were sad, maybe having someone in house who has the credibility to challenge BB is a good thing.

Who knows what he true role is but I am glad he doesn't pimp himself in front of the media like other NFL douche bags (Hello Mr. Polian).

Awesome long overdue thread. He deserves some credit.

Think it was a joke. For some reason a few people out here that think Flloyd Reese is sleeping in the broom closet all day and deny his involvement.

Ahhh... ok, I get it. I will stop being an uptight a-hole... well honestly I can't really promise that but I will try.

if floyd was any good they would've signed j babin.

Satirical post

If I recall correctly, Reese was one of the important people in the Titans' front office who helped build the talented 1998-2003 teams before they eventually hit cap hell. When the Pats employed him I thought it would only lead to good things, and thankfully it has.

If you're referring to me.....the picture is meant as a "compliment",insofar, that Floyd,at his age must be exhausted at all the re-worked contracts BB had him doing in the last 2 wks......thought it was pretty funny, too:)

You know the old saying, if you had to explain your joke, it wasn't funny:). Sorry, but it seemed like you were ripping the guy for sleeping on the job. All that said, now that I know what your post meant, I love it. Very good to praise that man, because he is awesome!

I don't get it...who's Floyd Reese?...not the barber from Mayberry R.F.D.?

Holy Shheee-ite!!

Its Josef Stalin!!!

Floyd was a commie!!!

I dont know if you guys recall, but Mr. Reese was an analyst on ESPN for either a year or 2 after he left TN. He basically had a Bruschi-type role, on NFL Live, etc. Anyway, he came across as just such a likeable guy, had the easiest style, obviously had a wealth of knowledge, and just about made you wanna give the guy a hug. When we got him, I was pretty psyched given his track record and experience. And having seen from those shows just how smooth and easy going he was, thought he'd be a great fit here with Mr Kraft and our FO. I wont give him ALL the credit here for how well-oiled the machine's running currently, but I know behind the scenes, he's doing a tremendous job in whatever his role is.

Floyd's function here is primarily as a contract negotiator. He doesn't set the parameters or select the players, although knowing Bill I'm sure he listens to any input Floyd may have - particularly on one of his former players. He's not a scout, he's not in the war room on draft day. He's not the defacto GM here...that is Bill and to some extent Nick Caserio. Pioli never had the GM title because final football ops authority rests with Bill. He was VP of Player Personnel. Caserio is Director of Player Personnel. Floyd's title is Senior Advisor.

Agree with you completely. He came across as a guy who totally knew his stuff. I don't think it's an accident of our seeming draft success since he got here. Just a hunch I have, that his imput has really paid dividends.
