Chad, Fat Albert restructure contracts -- Chad's here until 2013

RapSheet Ian R. Rapoport
As @jeffphowe noted, Patriots WR Chad @ochocinco has restructured his contract through 2013. $1M this year, $3M in '11 and '12

RapSheet Ian R. Rapoport
As for Albert Haynesworth, his restructuring pays him $3.6M in '10, $1.5M in 2011 and $6.7M in 2012

Re: Haynesworth and Ocho restructure

Even more cap room. I like it.

Re: Haynesworth and Ocho restructure

Yeah, we needed it. After that Ellis signing it was gettin a bit low, like my bank balance.

what is our cap space figure now??? Mankins, Albert and Ocho a new deal and 2 restructured contracts. Ocho is making 1 million this season.

If Matt Roth and his agent would have shut their pieholes, they may have been a part of this bounty.

"Big restructures for Haynesworth & Ocho, but BB circumvented new CBA rules, wisely, by not re-working 'em til after 1st of league yr"

Very nice news, indeed!

Both contracts are more than reasonable. I love the Pats front office. They are superb at what they do.

Between the Big Al, Ocho, and Mankins restructure they would have seemed to have freed up alot of money?

Is there another move to come or is this just a case of book keeping and this money has already been spent on Ellis, Carter, and the like?

Certainly been a whirlwind few weeks for the front office. Kudos to Floyd Reiss, Caserio, BB and crew.

I say if there is anything left re-up Welker with it.

You mean to tell me that AH agreed to play for only 1.5 mill this year?
Something's wrong with these numbers I think you meant to say 3.6 mil in 2011. But he still agreed to 1.5 mil in 2012? Must be missing some information somewhere.

Wow! Floyd Reese is so good that he can actually go back in time and restructure deals for the year before this year.

Haynesworth:
2011: $3.6 million base salary
2012: $1.5 million base salary
2013: $6.7 million base salary

Ochocinco:
2011: $1 million base
2012: $3 million base
2013: $3 million base

Before restructuring Haynesworth was probably going to be just a one-year rental; he was due $30.9 million over the next four seasons. The Pats saved $22.7 million in base money.

Huge savings, huge positive impact on the cap.

In '08 we locked up Moss for his twilight years, now #85.

per Reiss he's getting 6.7 million in 2012 so basically if he's not an pro-bowler this year he's getting cut. Great move by the Pats

First off, it's not Reiss, but Mike Rodak who reported it.

Steve Silva of the Globe is also reporting this. And it contradicts what Ian Rappaport is saying.
