They have completely written off Chad as a productive receiver due to his potential roommate and some dropped passes.

:bricks:

That is completely hilarious to me.

Let's hope everyone else in the league carries the same opinion. Better to be underestimated.

Thats not what they did at all..atleast not skip. Skip has been a big supportor of Chad all offseason and was simply saying he should get back in line and stop with the living with the fan stuff. The other dude is the one who said he isnt a football player anymore. Skip has done nothing but say that New England made the best moves this off season. If you watched it everyday you would see that Skips comments today are just showing that he wants Chad to stay focused becaus he knows how good he can be in New England.

First Take reminds me of Vegas betting.

Vegas doesn't set the odds based on what will actually happen, but based on what people perceive will happen. Same with all these shows, it's meant to get people talking and generating interest.

Anyone who's 'been there" can tel lyou how hard it may be to pick up a new system and QB within a couple short weeks. I think Chad will be fine and if he isn't, then the Patriots will be fine. Either way, I'm good.

I was not a fan of the trade, but he did look good the day I was at camp. He's playing for his next contract and has TB as his QB. Still, 6 million seems like a lot for him.

Skip said the level of concern was a 9 due to Chad's idea for a roommate. That is insane.

Just my opinion, but the WR group is pretty deep, if he continues to drop balls and is showing signs that he is slowing down he could get cut. I don't see him as a mortal dead bolt lock. This team is very deep across the board, there will be some surprise cuts and / or late trades.

Ochocinco is on the downside of his career and at this point is over-rated. He'll be okay, not great. Still looking for someone to explain the difference between him and Branch besides the fact that Branch understand the offense.

The roomate stuff is pr genius, real life stupid.

What did the talking heads think of the cutting of Moss and the acquisition of a supposedly washed-up Deion Branch last year?

If Skip Bayless is on OchoCinco's side, then I am really concerned. That guy is a moron.

BTW, that living with a fan stuff is a bunch of BS. If he lives with a fan, that fan will be an employee of the Patriots or at least Bob Kraft's paper company. No way will he live with a random fan. It is just OchoCinco being OchoCinco.

The difference is that Branch might not play a full season. Ochocinco is more durable than Branch (which isn't saying much).

And with Branch's production last year, I'd take a clone of him in a heartbeat (albeit a less injury prone one).

That's fine with me. I like when nobody respects the Patriots. They play with a chip, and that usually equals more wins and, hopefully, CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Wide receiver Chad Ochocinco was a late arrival to the walkthrough session after missing about the first half of practice.

First Take is a show that thrives off controversy. If all 3 hosts agreed the show would have no substance. They realize this and probably discuss before the show who will disagree with the subject, coach, team or player. It's just simple debate. Grain of salt show just like Kornheisser and Wilbon's show. Prefabricated.

Does anyone really think he intends to live with a fan? It seems so obviously a joke that only a moron would take it seriously.

It's just amazing to me how much some talking head-type media people have run with this. It was such a small piece of what he said to the press yesterday. Then again, I guess middle school girl-type gossip ("OMG! Did you hear what he said? As IF") is easier than watching practices and assessing 85's actual progress on the field.

Bob Kraft mentioned today that he's been getting e-mails about this and someone famous offered to put up Chad.

85 has 4 seasons with over 90 catches.
85 has 7 seasons with over 1000 yards.
85 has 6 seasons with 7 or more td's.
85 averages 15.1 games per year.
