Nobody has to say anything.
You don't hear Tom Brady saying they're going to win the AFC East. So you sure as heck don't have to hear Rex Grossman predict they'll win the division.
Yeah, I agree--that one was a little weird too, but at least you can respect the guy for making a bold statement to pump up his team. Especially considering that they're basically the bottom dwellers of the division.
As strange and bold as that was, I don't have nearly the problem with a kid who was not even born yet making the statement that his teams' defense is on the same level as the greatest defense of all time...to top it off, it was after a practice against what was mainly the 2nd string offense.
The NYJ's fans go on and on about how bad our defense was, and we gave up what??--a handful of points more than them last yr?
This statement is one of the absolute dumbest I have ever heard, as not only does is disrespect the '85 Bears, but it proves the un-intelligence of Sanchez as a whole.
Grossman's was just--strange...but again, we've seen that before in many instances in sports..Suh from the DET Lions just made a statement on how they could 'run the table this yr, and go 16-0,' so Grossman's statement didn't really hit me the same as you. I think we've seen bad teams in just about every sport proclaim that they've changed somehow, and now they're going to suddenly win and contend.
Sanchez' statement is just cokcy and over the top stupid.. They haven't done a damn thing in 42 yrs but sneak in as a WC. Their biggest win in 42 yrs was beating us in a divisional round playoff game, LOL!!
