In a recent interview he actually is pathetically dumb enough to compare the current NYJ defense with that of the '85 Bears--which as we know is likely the best defensive unit EVER in the history of the game.

Sanchez compares Jets defense to '85 Bears - NYPOST.com

Not the most exciting thread ever, but I could not pass up the chance to share this infinite wisdom from Sanchez.

These guys are getting to be more than just annoying, they are downright delusional...

I think Rex Grossman's comments are also VERY delusional!

Adam Schefter said:
Redskins QB Rex Grossman told CSNWashington.com, "When it's all said and done, I really feel like this team's gonna win the [NFC] East."

That is just a shocking comment!

The only Sanchez quote in the article is this...

"It looks like they practiced every day during the lockout," Sanchez marveled.

And 'marveled' did not come out of his mouth. I think it's OK for the QB to be a fan of his team.

But he has to say it. Doesn't he.

Yes, because he will probably be the QB, and the rest of the team aren't good enough to make Rex's job easy!

He learned well form Rex's Course: "Jets Hyperbole 101"

Dude--the title of the article is "SANCHEZ COMPARES JETS DEFENSE TO '85 BEARS....."

"Sanchez got more than a little carried away yesterday morning, comparing this year's Jets defense to the famed 1985 Bears unit that rampaged its way to a 15-1 regular season and a Super Bowl crown. "

What exactly, is the controversy as to what he said??? It's more than obvious that he compared the defense to that of the '85 Bears...

It was so ridiculous that even fat Rex had to step in and combat his statements.

"We're not there yet," said Ryan...

Again--what exactly, are you not getting??

Nobody has to say anything.

You don't hear Tom Brady saying they're going to win the AFC East. So you sure as heck don't have to hear Rex Grossman predict they'll win the division.

Looks like the Post removed one Sanchez quote...." What time is cheerleader practice at East Jersey High School?"

Yeah, I agree--that one was a little weird too, but at least you can respect the guy for making a bold statement to pump up his team. Especially considering that they're basically the bottom dwellers of the division.

As strange and bold as that was, I don't have nearly the problem with a kid who was not even born yet making the statement that his teams' defense is on the same level as the greatest defense of all time...to top it off, it was after a practice against what was mainly the 2nd string offense.

The NYJ's fans go on and on about how bad our defense was, and we gave up what??--a handful of points more than them last yr?

This statement is one of the absolute dumbest I have ever heard, as not only does is disrespect the '85 Bears, but it proves the un-intelligence of Sanchez as a whole.

Grossman's was just--strange...but again, we've seen that before in many instances in sports..Suh from the DET Lions just made a statement on how they could 'run the table this yr, and go 16-0,' so Grossman's statement didn't really hit me the same as you. I think we've seen bad teams in just about every sport proclaim that they've changed somehow, and now they're going to suddenly win and contend.

Sanchez' statement is just cokcy and over the top stupid.. They haven't done a damn thing in 42 yrs but sneak in as a WC. Their biggest win in 42 yrs was beating us in a divisional round playoff game, LOL!! :D

I'm pretty sure Grossman means the Redskins are gonna "win" the race to draft Andrew Luck. 0-16, here they come!

Funny how when Rex made this same mistake last year and said this, we all pounced on him and Sanchez does the same thing and Rexy pounces on him.

Unless he was asked a direct question. We don't know what context that quote is in.

I heard Sanchez completed 5 of 16 passes in 11 on 11 drills earlier in the week. Better to claim that he is facing one of the best defenses in NFL history rather than admit he has been sucking in training camp.

That is just a shocking comment!

If asked, what else is he supposed to say, "No, we don't have a chance?"

Wrecks disowned it pretty quickly.

I'd rather know what Li'l Marky was thinking when he took that high school girl home for the night. Aw heck, we KNOW what he was thinking!

He was misquoted.

What he meant to say was, "When I practice against our defense, I make them look like the 85 Bears."

Simple misunderstanding. You jerks need to cut the Sanchize some slack, Jeez.

Ok, he sucks as a QB, he isn't an idiot. Is that better?
