Ochocinco wants to live with a fan

Is it possible to not like his guy ? :D

He is a very unique individual.. like him more and more.

My greatest hope is that he can get this offense, and not drop the freaking ball.

I can picture his host handing him a brown paper bag as he runs out the door in the morning... "Here's your lunch, Chad. Don't be late... and don't drop the freaking ball!"

I'm actually a bit concerned. It's his first year here, he still has a ton to learn, and I would like to see a bit more focus out of #85.

It's great for the lucky fan, but Ocho better not be around much. He should be at the facility working hard or in his room studying his playbook.

I get that the guy needs to unwind and relax, but I don't see how living with a fan is going to give him any real relaxation time. If anything, he'll be busy trying to make sure the fan gets some cool experiences.

I've soured on Ocho over the last few seasons so I'm sure that has something to do with my impression of this. Don't get me wrong, I like the trade we made. Personally, I don't find his antics aren't as funny as they used to be. But I feel like I'd question any WR's focus if they tried this, whether it be DeSean Jackson or T.O. or Santonio Holmes.

I understand what you're saying, but I think if you hear the whole interview you might feel better. He spent a lot of time talknig football and Patriots before someone asked him about how he's settling in to Boston area; he casually threw in the bit about living with a fan and moved on quickly, only talking about it more when the reporters followed up on it. Part of what makes Ochocinco so compelling is that dichotomy: The off-beat character on one hand, the serious competitor on the other. PatsPsycho also wrote up a nice report from camp yesterday and was very positive about his progress.

I think your apprehension, or cautious optimism is quite justified.

You make some good points, and I too, hope that he's focused properly.

That all said, there are many other WR's who are downright ***holes. Guys like DeSean Jackson, Crabtree, Braylon Edwards, and maybe even S.Holmes. I know that Holmes was a total jacka$$ here in Pittsburgh.

#85 is on a different level than these guys. Not talent-wise obviously, but in the sense that he is still respectable to most others, and although he is a character of sorts, he does not have the poor attitude that I believe a lot of the guys he gets compared to do.

On that note, I wonder what BB thinks of his 'living w/ a fan' idea? I wouldn't imagine someone so incredibly secretive would be on board for such an idea. Next thing we know, we'll be hearing how the playbook got out/in the wrong hands somehow, or we'll start hearing all kinds of rumors and chatter about current subjects in the locker room. I must say, I know it's kind of paranoid thinking---but I'll admit, I'm not 100% thrilled with the idea, just from a cautious fan's standpoint.

I would take him in. Phuck yeah I would, but too far away.

He would throw $$$ around chill palying xbox and IDC if he wants to have sex w/ some woman in the room I would give him. It would be bad ass and I envy the Lucky fan.

Not if it turned out the woman's name wasn't Evelyn... Would probably result in another great episode on (none of them are) BBWives though...

He put it out there..if the Patriots have an issue with it, i'm sure they can help direct his decision appropriately.

I'd take it as a positive that he wants to have an internet connection and an Xbox. to me that means he plans on resting when he's away from the stadium as he didn't mention he wants to be next door the best night-life hot spots so he can crawl home after a late night binge.

He knows what's at stake and what being a Patriot means and he has to eb himself at the same time. i think we'll jsut have to wait and see how it turns out, but I'm not too concerned. if it becoems a distraction, we'll go with a still very good WR group that Brady can manage.

@RapSheet: Ah, @Ochocinco... Never disappoints. Says for 2-3 weeks of the season, he wants to live with a fan. Really? "Have I ever lied to you?"

@MikeReiss: Ochocinco keeping it light. Says he hasn't found a place to live yet. Will stay with a fan, but has to have XBox and Internet.

Think he'd take out the trash and do the dishes?

I'm sure the team is fine with the idea of Ocho living with a fan of the Pats, as long as it isn't, like, um, Gisele. ;)

The whole interview was very good. Mainly about football and how he is learning a new system, etc.

Living with a Pats fan is not a big deal. But reading some comments has me worried about Pats fans?? I'm an Ocho fan that has always had a lot of respect for the Patriots and wanted Chad to get his dream chance of playing for BB and the Patriots. But reading some reactions make Pat fans sound dangerous and unstable . I'm sure that is not the intention of some posters, but wow!

Chad is an hard worker, he is constantly studying this new playbook and getting xtra help where needed to learn as fast as possible. Being an NFL player doesn't mean that all other things outside of work no longer exist.

If he was cool with college dorms I could let him have my room at Wheaton College (Norton) while I slept on the sexile bed lol.

Pats fans are known for being particularly dangerous and unstable types.

Always love new sign-ups like this. :rocker:

Welcome to the board! Some Pats fans were born unstable, some achieved instability and some had instability thrust upon them (see my sig).

Well, if he's a fan like me he'd rather die then let that info get out, especially to the likes of the Jets/Colts/Stealers.

In my place that info would be safer than nuclear launch codes.

If BB finds out he does that and leaves his playbook lying around, this is the fan Chad will be living with.

Now that he cut his salary by $5mm or so, he'll need to stay with a fan. Won't be able to afford Boston area housing coming from Cincinnati.

Dear Chad - Free Rent (TV and XBox)

Please come.

Ochocinco - Unocinco, what's the difference?

Fair enough. I didn't get the full context of it. And I am happy with the acquisition, especially with the re-structured contract. The early drops seem to have been taken care of. But I hope I'm not seeing hourly updates from this fan on Twitter and Facebook about all the crazy stuff him and Ocho are doing.

I think your apprehension, or cautious optimism is quite justified.

There are a lot of diva WRs. DeSean gets partial credit for his work to combat bullying, though his gay slurs probably even that all out. But I'd feel the same way even if one of the top quiet stars were attempting this, like Larry Fitzgerald or Andre/Calvin Johnson.

I'm not trying to defend myself here, because I am a bit dangerous and unstable. ;)

And I'm not denying Ocho is a hard worker either. He's lasted a long time and done well for quite a while, and you can't do that on talent alone. But I think it's fair to question where his focus is right now considering the off-season he had, not to mention the previous season filled with distractions and reality TV shows while struggling through a sub-par season.

Maybe he needs to do it to play well. He can shut me up quickly by having a big year. But if he struggles, it's totally fair to question some of the decisions he's making. Considering the last year of Ocho's life, it's more than understandable that people would be concerned about him being too distracted.

Re: Dear Chad - Free Rent (TV and XBox)

Wow. Hadn't thought of good ole Lorena in quite some time.

Wonder if she's single...
