Guys, it's not a depth chart. Starters might be right, but after that it's in no order at all. Mostly how easy it is for me to swap out players with all the transactions.

I will be coming out with my first 53 on Thursday before the Jaguars game.

Thanks for reading. I appreciate it.

And if you have any thoughts on anything, don't be afraid to drop me a line at [email protected].

Good, bad or ugly, I welcome the feedback.

Thank you for clearing that up. And thanks for the article too, good reading.

what do you mean, he is the fastest LB we have and someone who can cover scat backs and TE`s off the line. He has a huge wingspan and good hands. look at the intercepts he had for pick 6 last year. I am confused. non of our other LB have his speed and range and is the perfect Nickel LB we have had. He is way faster than spikes ,flecter or other guys.

.

People on here love to cut starters.

Guyton played roughly twice as many snaps as Spikes throughout the whole season (even when Spikes wasn't suspended). People for some reason here have decided that , despite him being the starter, hes the worst guy on the roster.

Let's give Bedard more credit than that.
Morris over Faulk?
Wilhite over Butler?
Tate 4th?
Price behind Jenkins and Slater?
Butler ahead of lee smith?
Moore, cunninham and Anderson over Carter?

No way.

I don't really have a problem with any of those, other than maybe Price being behind Jenkins and Slater.

I don't think either of Morris or Faulk make the team, so I'm not sure it mattesr.

Okay, I'll bite.

Tate 4th. Over Edelman? Why?

Why would you put Carson Butler over Lee Smith?

And why Andre Carter 4th DE?

I can at least imagine reasonable arguments for the rest.

With the rule change, I can't see how you keep a roster spot for what's basically your 7th receiver (behind Hernandez) to return kicks. Edelman, Price, whoever.

*sigh*

Everyone seems to keep forgetting that they made TWO changes to KOs: the one everyone remembers is the KO being moved to the 35.

Most people seem to forget that they also prohibit the KO coverage team from lining up more than five yards behind the ball.

In other words, there might be fewer KOs being returned, but the ones that are returned are, if anything, more likely to go for big gains.

I prefer looking at the positions by similar sill sets; example... someone on SOSH broke down the line like this:

DE/DT Hybrid
RDE Mike Wright (99) 6-4, 295, 29 years, signed through 2012
DE Shaun Ellis () 6-5, 290, 34 years, signed through 2011
DE Darryl Richard (90) 6-4, 290, 25 years, signed through 2011

Defensive Tackles/Interior Linemen
DT Vince Wilfork (75) 6-1, 344, 29 years, signed through 2014
DT Albert Haynesworth (92) 6-6, 320, 30 years, signed through 2015
DT Kyle Love (74b) 6-1, 310, 24 years, signed through 2013
DT Landon Cohen (66) 6-3, 300, 25 years, signed through 2011
DT Myron Pryor (91) 6-0, 319, 25 years, signed through 2012
DT Kade Weston (66) 6-5, 315, 23 years, signed through 2013
DT Steve Williams () 6-2, 306, 29 years, signed through 2011
DT Gerard Warren ( 6-4, 330, 33 years, signed through 2011
DT Brandon Deaderick (71) 6-2, 300, 24 years, signed through 2013 (Active/PUP)
DT Ron Brace (97) 6-3, 330, 24 years, signed through 2012 (Active/PUP)

OLB/DE Hybrid
LB Jermaine Cunningham (96) 6-3, 266, 23 years, signed through 2013
LB Rob Ninkovich (50) 6-2, 255, 27 years, signed through 2011
DE Eric Moore (98) 6-4, 268, 30 years, signed through 2011
DE Andre Carter () 6-4, 257, 32 years, signed through 2011
DE Mark Anderson (95) 6-4, 255, 28 years, signed through 2011
LB Markell Carter (49) 6-4, 248, 22 years, signed through 2014
LB Aaron Lavarias (60) 6-2, 255, 22 years, signed through 2013
LB Clay Nurse (61b) 6-3, 260, 22 years, signed through 2013

I believe Greg addressed that back in comment #17:

The NFL does require all 32 teams to make public a depth chart as of yesterday. For some teams that may mean something; in my opinion it doesn't really mean all that much for the Patriots. For what it is worth, here is the current Patriots' "Official" - oops, make that "Unofficial" - Depth Chart:
