Reading Between the Lines of Brady's Comments

From the lead Pats article in today's Boston Herald:

“I think this team has to listen more to what the coach says,†Brady said. “I think if we listen more and did more of what our coaches told us to do, I think we’d be a lot better off. But at times, I think we figure we can do it our way, and we show there is quite a bit of inconsistency to that. We just have to keep trying to find a way.â€

My immediate thought is that Tom is shedding some light on why Doug Gabriel was benched, and then ultimately released.

That's what i thought when i read the transcript yesterday.

Notice that Tom did praise Gabriel's work ethic.

that comment seeme a bit warped to me.
1. he's the kind of QB who would find something positive to say.
2. the comment helps gabriel vis-a-vis other franchises.
3. it's still "don't let the door hit ya on the way out, pal"

am i stupidly reading this wrong, or did you write "psycho" in earnest?

Seems like an unclever pun on the posters' names.

Brady may have been commenting on his own tendency to over-audible. The Dolphins had picked something up, and audibles resulted in negative plays. He may have been reminding himself to trust the coaches' play calls more. The Pats, after all, do have guys in the press box.

The thing I could read in his comments.. were Deion Branch knew where to be and where I would throw the ball.. While Doug Gabriel thought he could show up and just put on a jersey and think he would be the next Randy Moss.. Bottom line , he misses Deion Branch ,and to somewhat Charlie Weis..
