Vereen over LeShoure

I can't disagree more.

I'll take Vereen over Leshoure for the Pats offense every single time. Vereen is a weapon with speed and shiftiness, he can catch passes, and pass block. He's a complete player. Not quite as electric as Best last year, but with better size at 5'11 210 lbs so he can take the NFL pounding better. He also runs low to the ground and doesn't shy away from contact either so I wouldn't discount him on the inside. Vereen is a good complementary back to BJGE and a guy who's like another wide receiver when he's on the field.

Thanks for the link! I'm loving what I'm seeing from Vereen-didn't know much about it before the draft, but I'm glad we have him.

As a card-carrying member of the anti-Leshoure brigade from the beginning, I'll just quote myself from 3 days ago:

Well, as long as our trusty mod is leading, I'll follow with:

Way back in March Vereen was penciled in as a potential Pats target from this anonymous poster:

Just a guess, but I think the Pats have Vereen highly rated, along with that first round RB we're not allowed to mention.

At least one will be drafted by the Pats...

17. DL JJ Watt
28. DL Muhammad Wilkerson
33. OLB Brooks Reed
60. S Quinton Carter
74. OL Benjamin Ijalana
92. RB Shane Vereen
123. WR Denarius Moore
156. OC Brandon Fusco
184. CB Justin Rogers

LeShoure would have been a much better value pick over Vereen, they need a lead back type like LeShoure and Vereen isn't the answer. He could have been picked in the 3rd maybe even 4th round and I personally think DeMarco Murray is more of a home run hitter than Vereen. I just don't get some of these picks they're making. I know we have to wait and see how these players develop but I was much more excited last year when they picked Gronkowski, Hernandez and Cunningham in the second round because I knew they would make an impact early, these players that they're picking in the second don't seem to have that type of upside. I don't hate the picks they've made but they could be doing much better.

Somethosters on this board need to get their head around... they looked at vereen they looked at leshoure and they said we like vereen better. Do you think you know more about each player then the guys who worked them out?

How bout we wait a while before condeming the FO

It's a shame we'll never get a real answer to the Vereen vs. LeShoure debate -- LeShoure tore his achilles in camp. Hate to see careers waylaid before they even begin.

Sorry to hear that.

All Vereen needs to do is get 1 yard in the opener to end the first year discussion on this matter.
