I think our cap # is probably making any Osi signing prohibitive anyway, but I see that they lost Kevin Boss to free agency and Ben Patrick to retirement. Hernandez might be good trade bait? No as a straight up trade, but along with a 4th or 5th rounder.

Yeah, trade them Vollmer too while we're at it.

I think maybe you should sit the next few plays out champ....

With them losing Prince, it would be more logical to offer them someone like Meriweather for Osi and a 3rd round conditional pick than to trade them Hernandez...

Are you being for real right now? Were you out late drinking last night? Are you running a temperature? Or did I somehow just slip into the twilight zone?

What you're suggesting is much worse than giving up the first round pick that the Giants want for him. You do realize that, don't you?

I would be all for it. However, wasn't Prince a corner? Why would the Giants want Meriweather?

I thought we agreed that you'd forget about Osi and stick to TC reports  (which were awesome btw)

Thanks.....but I am the official Osi torchbearer on the board and will continue to engage in that role until I make a complete fool of myself.

Interesting idea, but I doubt BB wants to shell out the big coin to an aging lineman at this point, especially to one that has struggled as much against the run as Osi has. With Ellis on board, the team has a lot of DL depth, and there are already going to be some interesting cuts from the line.

I think, at this point, I'd be less surprised by a trade for an OG than for Osi.

Because it would allow them to move Rouse to CB full time. A move he wants to make.

You're not quite there yet.... :D

Re: Giants TE Issues and Osi

I'd rather keep Hendandez for his years and years of Dallas Clark potential than trade the farm for Osi and his 2-3 years of declining production.

I'm skeptical about the trade value of Meriweather in his final contract year, but I was just tallying up my roster and found myself with one DB too many....

From what I've read, BM isn't a shining star in training camp so far. As with the good reports, I've learned to temper my feelings about the bad reports because it's still so early. However, this has become a theme with Meriweather the past few seasons. Patience at some point will wear thin.

Re: Giants TE Issues and Osi

Hernandez for Osi? **** no.

11 sacks against weak opposition isn't a substitute for what a healthy hernandez can provide in only his 2nd year.

Never been a huge fan of Meriweather. He seems to take his teammate out of the play as often as he tackles the receiver. A BM for Osi trade straight up could make sense for both teams. Meriweather was a 1st round pick so the Giants can claim they got back 1st round value. Plus BM has a couple of pro bowls under his belt, how that happened, I still cannot fathom. The only drawback really is who will step up into BM's spot at this point. If the dropoff to Sanders at FS isn't much, then this could be worth it and our DL would be insanely stacked.
