Cracked foot. Remember all of us that said. DRAFT PRINCE. DRAFT PRINCE!
This reminds me of sergio kindle.

and part of the reason dowling didnt go as high was bc of his injury problems

A broken bone in a previously healthy foot sounds like lousy luck for the player and team both, but IMO it doesn't say much about the wisdom of the draft-day decision. :confused2:

(Kindle's a different story, because before the draft he was reported to require serious knee surgery, as well as to have ADD, alcohol issues and narcolepsy.)

The bone he broke is the 5th metatarsal. It is the outside of the foot. There is not a lot of blood flow to that area so it will take longer to heal. It's also the reason for the surgery to put a pin in.

There have been a lot of injuries because of the lack of the supervised off-season program. Including 6 or 8 Achilles Tendon Tears.. And we are only through the 1st week of camp..

Tough loss for the Giants. Their Secondary was already pretty weak, with little depth. Wonder who they will turn to for reps this late in the game.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't this the kid that was considered the best DB in the draft?

No, that was Patrick Peterson. Semi off-topic, but I found it odd that Prince Amukamara was the second-highest rated rookie in Madden 12 given his place in the draft.

Oh, okay. I thought it was this kid. I know he was highly touted though.

I know he was highly touted though.

He certainly was -- tremendous athlete and reportedly a high-character guy too. I won't shed any tears for the Giants, but it's a real shame for a young player like Amukamara to have such a nasty injury before his career can even get started.

This sounds like the Ty Law type of injury that caused him to miss the whole second half of the 2004 season.

Ty Law's injury was a Lis Franc fracture. Different injury altogether. Lis Franc injuries are often mis-diagnosed as "high ankle sprains".

I hope they do the right thing with the kid, and avoid rushing him back. Foot injuries that don't heal right the first time can become career ending, or at least chronic, problems for athletes.

I'm sorry to hear this.

That's a real shame, truly sucks to see a guy suffer an injury of that magnitude before he's even played a game. Hopefully he can make it back to 100%.

Yeah, I agree, BradyFTW. It's always sad to see such a thing occur to anyone, but it's especially sad when it happens to someone who hasn't even had a chance to come into his own as a professional yet.

Yeah I agree; hopefully for Amukamara's sake he is able to make a complete recovery. Tough way to begin your NFL career.

Prince is having some horrible luck... dropping in the draft and then this. At least he signed that contract before hurting himself. Didn't check the details, but I'm sure the contract is mostly guaranteed.
