Derrick Mason to the Jets

I didn't post this thread to make fun of Sanchez but more of the fact that he has Holmes walking on a thin wire and 2 receivers in their mid 30s,1 of which has slowed down and one that has not done anything the past 2 Years except workouts in the prison gym and catching balls from fellow prisoners (not footballs lol)

The Jets will have to rely on the running game and Keller because you know the Pats and most teams will double cover Holmes.
Sure but you have to realize when the topic becomes Jets and passing people will make fun of Sanchez. Its like talking about William Shatner and signing.

I think you should of put a comma between passing and people.:)

You know what's really funny. Sanchez beat the Patriots with Chansi Stuckey and Jerricho Cotchery in Week 2 of the 2009 season. He went 15/22 with one touchdown. Then again in week 2 of the 2010 season with Braylon Edwards and Cotchery, now Edwards was an upgrade to Stuckey. He went 21/30 with 3 touchdowns. Then AGAIN in the 2010 post season with the addition of Santonio Holmes. He went 16/25 with......oh yeah 3 touchdowns. AND he went 9-7 his rookie year, improving to 11-5 the following year. It's funny to see people make fun of him, it shows you just how naive people can be. This kid has gone to two straight AFC championships, he may not be talented enough to take control of an entire team but he was put into a good system. He is improving and to be honest he has gotten a better group of wide receivers, i'm not saying he will be MVP or anything but at the same time showing a tiny bit of respect wouldn't be the worst thing.

You'll get no argument from me. Whether it's because of a running game or good defense or whatever people are going to rationalize, Sanchez has been to two AFCCGs in the last two seasons while Brady not even won a playoff game in that same span. Excuses and flaming will abound, I'm sure, but it doesn't change the facts.

Frankly, if we were not going to go further than we did the last 2 years, its better than they got as far as they did on their wing and prayer, because it will make it more enjoyable to win it all again while they think they are supposed to.

Well said, my favourite homer. :)

It will be interesting to see how the core of Holmes, Mason and Plax perform as a group. I think in terms of locker room presence Mason was a good addition. He's been around the league a long time and he's a definite upgrade in the attitude department over that punk Edwards. If healthy he should prove to be a good #3, and consistent target for Sanchez. But short of Plaxico turning back the clock 5 years or so, I just don't see this group creating a lot of match-up problems for the better defenses in the league.

I'm probably alone in this but I actually think this was a pretty good signing for the Jets

It's low risk high reward to bring on an older WR that has been remarkably consistent throughout his career.

And I think Sanchez is a better QB than his stats show. It wouldn't surprise me if Mason had a good year for the Jets
