Is there any hope that Jackson will make some major plays in the games to come?

Is he going to be one of these lame WRs who is *constantly* injured?!

So much potential, but he's gotta stop pulling things....

If he gets healthy, which is extremely questionable at this point, he will make a difference. At least I've convinced myself of that, for better or worse.

I can only hope that he improves next year and starts tapping the potential he's shown he has, but if he really hasn't practiced for a few weeks before this one (as Brady himself said), he's done for this year. Even if he gets healthy BB won't use him unless we're desperate.

I'd say no. He hasn't practiced, is often injured. When he is in the game Brady barely looks at him.

The impact will be next yr.

Eventually.

Eventually.

The sun is a main sequence star about 4.5 billion years old. It has another 4 to 5 billion years on the main sequence before it swells up, becomes a Red Giant and then burns out into a White Dwarf (insert Flutie joke here) cinder. Hopefully that will be enough time for Chad.

probably not this year to be honest...maybe a catch here and there...BUT this guy is no bethel...we have seen flashes of excellence and i think he will be a good receiver im sick of the "chad jackson is a bust" threads....an injured leg doesnt mean he sucks...nobody called watson a bust after he was injured his rookie year...we just didnt notice cuz we had other TE options...
wait till the guy goes through an offseason and camp with his QB then we can gauge him...so yeah he was a big dissapointment but not because he got put in and didnt have wat it took to be a good receiver...but rather because he was injured...
BB and TB have said it time and time again...we cant tell yet he hasnt strung together a few weeks of practice/games yet enough to gauge his talent and potential to produce...

Maybe he should look at him. Maybe Josh doesnt give Brady a cookie, though, if he looks at him. :D

The entire wr situation in very bizarre now. They are so thin. it seems like brady is purposely not even looking at him. no trust there, which i guess is understandable. it's amazing how greg jennings and marcus colsten have been productive as rookies.

I think the jury is out until next year on this guy. No help this year.

It has always seemed to me that BB doesn't really understand the WR position or its importance.

What I find most depressing is knowing that if Brady truly had a playmaking WR (like a Harrison or a Moss or even a Price), the entire offense would likely be so much more vicious, helping out both the running and passing games.

Alas, I think as long as Brady and BB are together we're going to have to settle for a stream of wide receiver "leftovers".

Do we know anymore about Jackson's injury other than he hasn't practiced as of late? Last we knew, he was impersonating Roy Williams in practice for the Lions game. He tweaked his groin and we haven't heard an update until Brady mentioned it today.

I find it very, very hard to believe they would've released Gabriel if they weren't planning on having Jackson back very soon.

I'm sure Gabriel deserved his fate, but he was quite solid for the majority of week 3-9 (in 6 games, 22 catches, 302 yards, 3 TDs) - (Caldwell in comparison, though having emerged clearly as the #1 now, only had 19 catches, 198 yards, 1 TD in that time period). I just find it extremely hard to believe they'd release one of their more productive guys for a decent portion of the season without Jackson ready to play.

Jackson has a limited amount of plays. If he has them down, he'll play. If not, he won't.

Only if they throw the ball to him and he takes advantage of his talents, and they give him what I believe are the best routes for him, deep posts, skinny posts, and crossings...Not the sideline fly patterns....

Holy crap. do you have the ability to post anything else besides this and hatred for the OC?

LMAO.

To answer the question, I'm as strong a Jackson fan as there is but I'll believe it when I see it this season. Unfortunately.

If you cover NEM's team you only need to cover the middle of the field. There are no sideline patterns.

If you follow NEM's team you would be a AZ Cardinal fan. Certainly not a NE fan.

Jackson still has a chance to have an impact this year. We have at least 4 games left. If he's healthy enough, I'd kinda like to see BB just put him out there for as many snaps as he can handle physically and see what happens for better or for worse. There's a chance he could get hot. Either way, he benefits in the long term.

He's had more snaps than a lot of us think, but it seems like it might be the right time to, for the lack of better words, unleash him.

IMO, we have 3 true playmakers on offense. Brady, Maroney and Jackson. Jackson is mosty potential right now, but it is potential nonetheless.

Seriously people, what is with the obsession with CJ? TRUE PLAYMAKER??? This kid has been injured since day one, and when he gets on the field for a handful of plays he's injured the next week. What in his time with us here that would make you call him a TRUE PLAYMAKER? Playmakers are like Brady, Brown, Dillon and Maroney, and CJ is certainly nowhere near that level.

Can't argue much with that. Fact is fact. But there is a strong hope in this kid's ability. No doubt he was an awesome college player and has skill. Playmaker now? Nope, not today. Potential playmaker this Sunday? Absolutely.

Indeed. If he shows up today and have like 5 (his current career high is 2) catches I'd be more than willing to change my opinion of him, but until then, he's just a rookie that can't get healthy.

I have absolutely zero expectation for him this year. But next year I will be looking out for him to make an impact on our offense. This WR corp needs a stabilizer and he could be that guy for us next year.
