Oh boy... Favre to Dolphins rumors

Aw come on, that would be awesome! This year's matchups with the Dolphins are setting up to be snoozers with no story lines. With Favre, there's always a carnival atmosphere! The only thing better would be if they signed a lion tamer and a couple of trapeze artists to go along with the clown.

I'd love to see Lord Favre facing Big Vince & Big Al.

I can see him now, cleats & pads, chinstrap buckled and using a walker to try and get around. Considering how he throws interceptions, he could be billed as a human JUGS machine.

I would love to see Old Man Favre starting for the Dolphins, and I'm sure our DB's and DL would relish it too

Man i don't want to see the old fella get hurt.

Stop with the Favre hate..if he can play, let him play..why do we care? You're just giving him Hativation anyway.

Favre to the Dolphins would be a more entertaining trainwreak than the cast of Jersey Shore staying with a group of southern Evangelicals.

There's no way. He's fighting off he controversy over the junk shots and he already lost his streak.

Favre is a lot better than Henne so I really hope he doesn't go there. Although maybe that would keep an Orton deal from being revitalized, so that's a positive.

Bring it!! Then the fans can boo him and Chad Henne when we wipe the field with them. Who wouldn't want to see Albert Haynesworth remind Favre at the opening night Monday Night Football game why he meant to retire last year? It would be a win-win situation! Favre could do his annual, "Aw shucks I just couldn't stay away and I know y'all love me..." routine, the Pats would win their first game easily and then Favre could go on injured reserve for the rest of the year!

Less than an hour after that yahoo sports story, another report, closer to the situation, totally refuted it.

Moreover, it was the local beat writer, citing an unnamed upper management source, who refuted it. In other words, the coach was just F-in with the fans who were chanting for Orton.

Trust the beat writer more than the national columnist. Put it this way, it's as if Tom Jackson on ESPN said one thing about the Patriots, and then Mike Reiss says the opposite and cites internal sources. Trust the beat guy.

Miami Dolphins In Depth

(see the second story down)

Brett Favre is not coming to the Dolphins. OK?

Despite Internet rumors fueled by innuedo from journalist twitter accounts, the Dolphins have no intention of signing Brett Favre, a highly placed team source is telling me. Chad Henne is the team's starting quarterback today. Period. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Oh, I assume some of you will counter with the fact coach Tony Sparano declined to rule out the possibility today during his press conference. He was asked directly if the Dolphins would be signing Favre, who will be 42 in October. "I can't rule anything out," Sparano said. "I'm giving you the only answer I can give you." Look, the Dolphins won't rule out re-signing Dan Marino. They won't rule out trying to trade for the rights to Joe Namath. They have yet to confirm that they will open the regular-season in September. This is, how to put it, a bung-tight organization that believes everything should remain in house. So coach was simply doing what the Dolphins do: Giving the media nothing.

Behind the curtain, however, the truth is different. I think I can sometimes, in admittedly rare instances, get the truth out of these people. I have been told in no uncertain terms Favre will not be joining the Dolphins.

I quite enjoy football without storylines.

Please I'm begging, Bret Favre, STAY HOME, I really DO NOT want to hear anymore, you're like an unwanted guest that just won't go away. :eek:Give us a break will ya? Geez!

Why cant ESPN offer him a contract to be on tv. You can see favre burp, fart, and play pranks on the news casters. Imagine favre coming behind Clayton and stealing his toupee??

I'm going to disagree with this. Favre was fantastic at one point, but he was one of the worst QBs in football last year. Henne, on the otherhand, is about average.

This will never happen but still, it would be fun to have the New Vikings in our very own division.

I wonder if the Curse of Favre would cause their stadium to get swooped up by a hurricane ...
