Derrick Mason In...... Jerricho Cotchery OUT?!

ESPN radio reporting as I'm typing that Derrick Mason is taking a physical for Jets If passed J Cotchery would be released.
Thoughts???

Honestly, Cotchery is the one and only Jet that I ever had any respect for. He plays with a lot of heart. I still remember him making that catch while injured last year. I respected that.

Trouble is we have too many wide receivers as it is.

seriously though if crotchery can't play than they need someone else. Downgrade but it had to be done. Don't give a damn about the little moves the Jets make though.

Cotchery's production has progressively declined over the last few years and he wasn't great last year. He might be worth looking at, but I don't know if I would gamble much on him.

I am wondering what the Jets are doing. They need Sanchez to make the next step this year and they are gambling on a lot of older WRs with question marks. How much does Mason have at 37? Can Plax rebound after being out of the game for over two seasons at age 34? I think if either these guys were additions to a receiving corp, it would be a good move. But I don't know if they are good replacements.

Plax is already out for a couple of days after tweeking his good ankle practicing route running. Must have been all short routes in prison...

Sounds like they may be doing a little squeeze play on Jerricho. He had disc surgery in February after playing hurt all last season. His doctor cleared him in July. The JETS were reportedly shopping him last week then placed him on PUP Monday. He was reportedly asked to take a pay cut and declined. He is due a $325K workout bonus...

What a great outfit, all FA should flock to the swamp...

True but we all know it now, the Jets are our biggest rivals now. Its going to happen, I havent seen on post about us and the Colts since football has been back and they were supposed to be our long time rivals. Jets have made their standing and we don't like them so any news about them makes sense.

Look at there board, I swear there were ppl on their forum saying the same thing about the Pats because it seem liked every new thread was something about our team.

We already know Rex is obsessed with us though..

Cotchery single-handedly burned the Pats on more than one occassion, he seemed to rise to the occasion in big moments. Won't hurt to see him go, Mason is a minor upgrade, maybe.

BTW- 33 pages and counting in the Cotchery thread on the Jets board! And I thought we got carried away sometimes...
