I didn't know that ESPN covered rat races.
Looks like he landed on his paws.

I don't mean to be a ****, but that thread title gives the impression that the Patriots hired "Mangenius". You might want to clarify that ESPN hired him in the thread title.

I just wanted to see what it was like to have a thread sent to the Practice Squad, it's never happened to me before.

The thread has two one-star ratings so far, it has potential to get there.

You know, I see where you're going with that, and I like it, but it makes me a tad squeamish seeing Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's work associated with an actual rat....... :D

As if I needed another reason not to watch ESPN

He wrote a great article in the NY Post last year before our playoff loss to the Jets, detailing why he's had success vs Belichick throughout his head coaching career and what his gameplans were like against the Pats. He was also pretty good on TV, breaking down the matchups and making his picks. He did pick the Jets to upset us last year FWIW.

He said Belichick's #1 goal is to not lose the game -- don't beat yourself. He also said that BB has his teams prepared for everything, so you have to throw something at them that they've never seen on tape before. He said the most important thing on defense is disguise because if you declare too early and tip your hand, Brady will pick you apart.

The article he wrote for the Post was about how the Jets could beat NE. It's a pretty good read:

NY Post - Mangini: Here's How The Jets Can Take Down The Patriots

I wonder if he'd be interested in doing some kind of march/walk for charity?

He can start in Bristol, and make his way to Boston...

That sounds like a fine idea to me.

'Interact' with the fans, and what not??

Benedict Arnold's, Letters to America is also a good read for those who care to read his stuff.

Absolutely. Arnold is very similar to Mangini, inthat both were consummate team players, very good at what they did, and dependable, until they began to let their egos run the show. After that, they lost sight of who they were and turned on their friends and nations.

There is an amazing amount of commonality in those two stories.

Just in case I needed another reason to despise BSPN...

How long will he actually be an analyst? Within a year you will see him as an offensive or defensive coordinator somewhere.
