I didn't really see a forum section for this kind of thing, or I missed it.

But I'm sure some here are fans of the franchise and the full AFC East Rosters have been released:

Video Games - Madden 12 Ratings for the New England Patriots - ESPN

Some ratings are surprising to me, like our WR/TE's seem low. The secondary looks great and I have a feeling it might get better with roster updates every week.

Running back's are about what I expected, small improvements every week I'd say.

Can't argue with the QB's obviously and the line looks solid.

Defense Overall looks very good, and will only get better with the first roster update.

Tips for those who don't play the franchise all that seriously:

When you are looking at your DE's on the depth chart, take notice of your outside linebackers, oftentimes a low to mid 70's or 80's OLB can get a 10-15 point increase playing DE. Cunningham for example, looks like a second string OLB (will be 1st string once they remove TBC w/ first roster update) at the moment, with a 75 overall, will probably have ~85-90 overall if you move him to DE (which he'll probably be this season anyways if the defense does indeed take a 4-3 form). Might be an important move to make once Warren and Stroud are removed from the Depth Chart. Guyton will also probably be mid 80's at end.

Moving to DT rarely has the same effect but with VW and AH we obviously won't need DT help.

Keep in mind that it looks like our front 7 defensive positions will shift around a bit if we really do go 4-3.

My thoughts on the roster:
*Hoyer should be rated higher than Mallett.
*Wendell is underrated. I thought he was the top interior OL backup last season, not the worst OL on the entire team.
*Eric Moore should at least be in the 70s.
*Wright is pretty good for his role, but I don't know if he's good enough to be rated 84.
*Glad to finally see Meriweather in the low 80s instead of the 87-92 range.

I'm guessing Haynesworth will get a rating in the mid-80s and Ochocinco will get high 80s.

Did they expand the rosters, seems like a lot of players?

Also, this may be the first time I see a long snapper in the game. I don't remember ever seeing Lonie Paxton in a Madden game.

Branch is to low, sanchez is to high

Vollmer got a slap in the face.

That's the highest they've ever given Vollmer. First time he's seen the good side of 80.

They re-vamped pre-season. You start with 70 players and by the end of pre-season you have to narrow it down to 53. After year 1 in franchise rookies will have their stats hidden and as pre-season progresses their stats are revealed. Makes the pre-season worth playing. Depth charts are also adjusted I think. So 2nd & 3rd stringers are subbed in at some point during pre-season.

Im good with where Malletts at...although i think his deep throw accuracy could be a little higher

I'm going to be running with the pats in this game,I don't play offline its to easy.I expect everybody to use the eagles press with all the CB and blitz up the gaps

No Haynesworth and no Ochocinco!! Hopefully they update the rosters to reflect the RL changes! Mallet at 69 sounds terrible unless they've changed how rookies work. I also don't like the sound of having to play through 4 meaningless preseason games before I can figure out what I have in my rookies.

I hope so!

If they do I'll be running RB screens with Woodhead all game :D

That's the problem. As a second team all pro, he should be near 90, if not higher.

Random rankings that make no sense:
Edelman gets 82 catching (too high), but only 87 Agi, 86 Acc, and 77 Elusiveness
What has Slater done to earn 95 juke move, best on the team?
Why does Thomas Austin have better run blocking footwork than Vollmer?
Why does Matt Katula have better pass and run blocking footwork than Connolly, much less anybody?

Mike Wright: 4.81 40, 60 Spd
Brandon Spikes: 5.05 40, 73 Spd
Huh?

Wilhite > Arrington? Really?

Josh Barrett ran a 4.34. He needs mid 90s speed, not 89.

And Darnell Jenkins has a speed rating of 87. He deserves at least a 95.

Wonder what Ocho and Albert will be rated

Wow, I didn't even notice how atrocious the rankings were until you posted this. That is just so random it's ridiculous.

Honestly, I usually just edit the Patriots roster according to my feelings about the players. I usually don't waste my time with the rest of the league.

Every year they have some that make no sense at all. Like last years ratings on Brady. He starts off year 1 franchise with an 89 for throwing power, yet Manning was like a 95.
Either way, its just a game. I do like the idea of expanded rosters in preseason.

Same here. Edelman, Vollmer, and Wright are the three that got significantly changed after the last roster update, and that was all physical skills based mostly on their combine numbers.

I love this idea. I'm considering upgrading from Wii to 360 just for this feature and custom playbooks.

(And Halo)

yep, im going to have to finally upgrade too. They told me madden 12 would not be available on ps2. From here on out, its all ps3. Oh well, I needed to upgrade anyway :rocker:

The reason the ratings are so out of wack is because one guy decides the ratings for all 32 teams and 1800 players. I heard kevin kolb was going to be an 82-84. Really? A 73 qb rating gets you that. Brady should be 150 ovr then. Lol also gronk was 85 at the end of last year. Why is he 84 now?

On offence all that matters in madden is speed and elusiveness it's why CJ Spiller can get crazy stats and break loads of tackles. Yet lawfirm can't as a powerback. I also hate that they removed the swapping sets to change personel so you can't go to jumbo of spell HB in times where I want Woodhead it was much better.
