Raiders lose Aso, Gallery, and Zach Miller. They didn't have a ton of talent to begin with, had no 1st rounder this year (forget who that went to) and haven't signed anybody of note from another team.

The Giants would be crazy not to take it for Osi, it's as close to a 1st as they are likely to get.

Not to count my chickens before they hatch, but I count 33. How the hell does Bill do it?

I think there's worse teams than them. Wash, Car, Cin. Remember, Oakland still has McFadden so they can always run the ball, Campbell isn't great but isn't terrible, he's not any worse than John Beck or rookie Andy Dalton. Gallery is a G, not exactly ground breaking. Line and LBs are above average. It'll be in the top half, probably not #1.

Don't jinx it, last draft i though we were going to have a top 10 pick.

Exactly honestly nothing was more disappointing than having that pick slowly slip down... stupid 6-0 in their division. In saying that... it was nicely evened out by Carolina going from playoff contender to last place.

The Raiders look to be considerably weaker this season than in 2010. They've lost their starting LG, their All-Pro corner and their #1 TE as big targets I can see just off the cusp.

The first half of their schedule is filled with winnable games, the second half of their schedule looks brutal.

A tweet from LaConfora or Caplan said that the Raiders were 173 million over the cap. Basically said that the Raiders were going to have to guarantee ALL the player contracts this year, drop the players to min salary and amortize the money like a SB to make it to the cap.

Not sure how much of an exaggeration this is, but with the Raiders letting so many people walk, it can't be that far from the truth...

Just a point of information. Gallery was a starting LG, not LT for them .l

Im thinking no better than 9-7 for the raiders this season.

Quite right. I really should pay a little more attention than what I have been the past 2 days before hitting reply.

Do you mean they are at 173 M? 173M over the cap would be almost 300 M. Not all of the amortizing in the world would help that.

Still, how could they possibly be at 50 Million over (which is about what they would be at if that figure is correct). Forget guarantees and amortizing they have to shed a ton of players as well I would think, especially since only part of the cap hit would be this year(if I am remembering my Miguel teachings correctly).

I mean they were supposedly negotiating with Aso and Miller which had to have been pure BS for the fans benefit. No wonder they didn't vote for the CBA. This kills them as a franchise for years if all they are doing is pushing more money to future cap years.

How in the name of Al could this happen?

I won't say anything else to frighten the jinx believers, but this makes me happy if even somewhat true. No wonder Mr. Seymour is 'concerned'.

Im thinking no better than 9-7 for the raiders this season.

Actually, looking at their schedule, it's also not out of the realm of possibility to see them go 8-8 or even 7-9,

The biggest thing for them will be trying to get a sense of continuity with hew faces and talent.

There may still be some serious player losses due to their cap overage and general mismanagement.

9-7? thats a bit generous. I am perdicting more a 5-11 season. i think the loss of nnamdi, miller and gallery is at least worth a 3 game swing no?

I believe it was a typo, 17.3million over.

Its possible that 6-0 in the division could turn into 0-6 in the division, because as of now, they are the worst team in the AFCW.

Okay, that sounded too insane for for words. Still that is a lot to be over at this point.

And they have a new coaching staff too don't they? Who have had no chance to get their system installed thanks to the lockout?

I smell 4-12.

Personally Im bigger on the moves they made within the coaching staff as opposed some of they players they lost. They had good conerback play outsided of Nnamdi last season and I think his loss won't be as big as it @Denver W
@Buffalo W
New York L
New England L
@Houston W
Cleveland W
Kansas City W
BYE WEEK
Denver W
@San Diego L
@Minnesota L
Chicago L
@Miami W
@Green Bay L
Detroit W
@Kansas City L
San Diego W
I think that's a pretty fair prediction on their season if they can play the way they played last season.

Didn't Cincy nearly do that last season? I know they went 6-0 two years ago.

They could lose every game you've given them as a W. They won't go to Hou and beat them there. Doubt they beat Denver twice. San Diego, even at home, isn't an easy game. Detroit is probably a better team. Kansas City won the division last year. Buffalo and Cleveland are debatable.
