Profootballtalk said that we traded him, so we will get something in return for him. Might be a later round pick since the acquisition of Chad Ohocinco dried up our late round picks.

Do the Eagles not have a salary cap, or does Andy Reid have photos of the Commish. with sheep or something?

Sorry to see Page go. Lot of upside there if he keeps it up.

tough loss... we didn't need to lose him. :(

Hi Darius Butler:eek: more playing time? I think so z

If Butler could tackle i'd be easier on him

We'll be seeing more of our 4th or 5th corner because we lost a safety?

Well, they're wrong. He was a free agent.

I thought he had a second round tender on him.

Surprised not many posters are a little more pissed about this. I thought Page was a solid fill-in... I actually felt pretty comfortable with him when he was in there and thought he'd only get better as he got comfortable with the system. Time for everyone else to step it up I guess. Best of luck Jarrad.

I believe Page got the provisional tender in case he remained a RFA under the new CBA, but he ended up unrestricted.

The Redskins North are signing everyone.

This is a serious over-statement. First off, the eagles had serious money they had to spend. Secondly, they aren't giving the players ridiculous contracts from what I have seen.

They've actually been very frugal and focused only on certain players to fill holes.

Where is all this money coming from

The Eagles had the 3rd most money to spend in the ENTIRE LEAGUE. Behind only Tampa and Cinncinnati and just ahead of Arizona I believe..

Florio is talking out his arse.. Page was a UFA due to the new CBA. The only thing we MIGHT get is a compensatory draft pick if they are doing that going forward.

No. The second round tender was only applicable if he was an RFA under the OLD rules. Under the new rules, he became a UFA because he has 5 years in the league.

DB are they really filling holes or just improving areas of strength though?

Well it was bound to happen with the way they've been spending.

In other news: The Eagles have just signed EVERY remaining free agent on the market. That is all.

Liked Page. Obviously BB thought guys like young Sergio Brown who impressed some of us here was a better team asset.

You think the Eagles would have spent some of that money locking up (haha) Vick.

I liked him, but I also like Chung, Sanders, Meriweather, and McGowan, so not going to get stressed out about it

Once he became an UFA, I figured he was gone. There were a couple of reasons why he was traded here, and one of them was because he wanted (and could get) more as a free agent than Scott Pioli thought he was worth. Not surprised that Belichick agreed with that asessment.
